This was the first time I've tried to make candles, as I was doing so as a gift for my significant other (an excellent gift idea by the way!). I was really pleasantly surprised with this wax, as it was such a large amount and more than I expected. I also thought the quality was really high as the wax chips felt smooth and of uniform size. I also liked that it wasn't just a huge block of wax, and it's very convenient that it's already shredded for you. How it works: melt the wax on the stove and heat to whatever temperature you need (based on what type of candle you're making) using a candle (or regular) thermometer. I liked that this wax melted very quickly and there weren't any impurities or chunks when it was melted- it was just a clear, beautiful looking liquid. Then you can add whatever add-ins you'd like, such as colors, scents, etc. And viola! You just pour it into the appropriate container with a wick in it and you're done. I liked how easy this product was to use. Also, the resealable bag it arrived in is very handy as you probably won't need to use the entire bag in one sitting. While it may seem pretty expensive, it's one of the best deals I've seen on Amazon and I've always had good luck with CandleScience products as they appear to be of high quality.

Was as expected. It’s supposed to be unscented but has a sweet residual smell to it I was not expecting but aside from that minor aspect color and portion was as ordered

Bought this to start my own small business selling candles, and I'm very happy! It melts down well, holds a pretty decent amount of scent, and worked very smoothly in my blend. It also seemed to be pretty pure, without any debris in the wax upon melting. So if you want a cheap starter wax with good quality, this is a great one to start!
