STAS Art Hanging System: STAS cliprail pro White 200cm 78.75 inch + Installation kit

I've been adding this gallery system to many of my open walls over the past few years. Most of my artwork is lighter weight so I mainly use the little clips and clear cable. When I hang something heavier, like an old wooden mirror, I use the zipper attachment with the clear cable (if I get heavier than that, I'll get the metal cords). I have a lot of art and it definitely helps rotating and arranging it.As for installation, a drill for wall anchors/screwdriver (I usually try to go into studs). A level and a pencil help you mark the location of the clips.. there's an extra long clip that's used when connecting multiple tracks on one wall.

In general, I like the system. I have it installed throughout my gallery to display artwork for sale. Recently we have had several failures of the Perlon lines. We are well under the stated weight limit of the lines, but after a couple years the lines have begun failing. They break at the point where the line is pressed into the clip that hold it in the track. We use a minimum of two lines per painting and so far we have only seen a failure on one line at a time. The paining then drops on one side. In one case, a painting hung below (on separate lines) stopped the fall. In another case, the painting dropped onto a table containing expensive glass art. Fortunately nothing was damaged. I recommend using steel lines and not the Perlon. There is no stretching or other indication that the Perlon lines are failing, they simply fail catastrophically without warning. It is also interesting to note that they are beginning to fail at about the same time--about 3 years after installation.

This is a great product. Looks terrific, works well. I have over thirty paintings hanging, in various configurations. The ability to move things around is terrific.Beautifully packed and promptly delivered.Allow some time to install the rails well. Get them level. Then enjoy them for years. Hanging pictures takes seconds. And it is fun.

Too easy, will need to order some more.
