Great concept, but...
I was desperate to find another option to swaddle my 5month old son. He kept getting his arms out of the swaddle I was using (the velcro kind). However, he has shown me time and time again that he is not ready to go without. Within 5 minutes of putting him in our old swaddle, he will fall asleep, whether it was for naps or for bed. However, he keeps getting out. I bought the Miracle Blanket and he got out of that (I think he was too big for it and the fabric wasn't stretchy enough.) So I found the Woombie. I thought it was a great idea. I got it and although he can't get his hands out, it is not a tight swaddle (by design). I have read the Woombie website and it gives tips on how to transition your baby into using this successfully so I am trying that for naps, which is put him in the Woombie and put the tight swaddle over that. I think that if you use the Woombie from birth, it would be flawless. But going from a tight swaddle to this is pretty tricky. I don't know if I will ever be able to just use this for him to sleep. I do however use this to feed him in. He likes to wrestle with his bottle sometimes now that he is learning to use his hands better and the Woombie is perfect for that. It's a great product and the fabric is awesome. Reviews I had read kept talking about the velcro closure at the top and how it cuts their baby's chins and I was happy to see that the one I received didn't have velcro over the zipper at the top. It had a super soft chenille flap with a snap closure. Although it didn't exactly solve my problems, I am happy with it and am using it daily.

best swaddle ever!
my son loves to be swaddled tight to sleep but he always managed to kick his way out of the velcro swaddles and would wake himself up every two hours because of it. i was worried about transitioning him to the woombie since i read in the reviews that there is a little more room to move and i wasn't sure if it would be tight enough for him. however my worries were quickly put to rest the first time i wrapped him in the woombie. he slept for 5 hours straight in that thing on the first try! and now, whenever i put him in the woombie (even if he is screaming bloody murder), he instantly calms down as soon as i zip him up! i love that the material is stretchy and lightweight (especially since we live in hawaii, he used to sweat in the other swaddles at night). and the dual zipper is nice, i can change his diaper by opening from the bottom without having to unwrap him altogether. i put him in the woombie for naps and night time and it always works like a charm. this swaddle is seriously a life-saver and it is so nice to sleep for longer stretches again! now i just need to purchase another one to have in rotation for when the other one needs washed!

great product, unfortunately not for us
I ordered this for my 10 week old because he was getting very fussy in the evenings and his limbs would flail all over when he got overtired. The blanket is great. I LOVED the color and it's a very nice material - stretchy and soft. It was extremely easy to put on and I love the double zipper feature. Unfortunately it didn't work for us. My son hasn't been swaddled since a week old and now likes to suck his hands to self soothe. He got very upset while in the blanket because he couldn't find his hands, so I'm returning it. But I think if we had gotten it when he was a newborn it would have worked great. Oh, it was also a little big for him. I ordered the 14-19 lb size and he's 12 lbs 5 oz and 23 3/4" long.

to small
I was afraid I was going to choke my baby and he is quite skinny (he is in the 6th weight percentile). This product only work on super skinny babies... borderline anorexic

Baby can move arms too much
My little guy still uses the SwaddleMe velcro sleepers in size large but was looking for something that was a little easier to get him in and out of for diaper changes. He's at the hand sucking phase currently and spent so much time last night trying to suck his hands through the Woombie, grunting away and not falling asleep I finally took him out and put him in the SwaddleMe instead, and he fell asleep within 5 min.

Not the magic solution I had hoped for
I love the idea of this! We kept our daughter swaddled for the first 4 or 5 months because she had such a strong jerk reflex that she could never get herself to sleep without us holding her arms snuggly to her body. We always swaddled her the old fashioned way and wrapped her up in a sheet with the "Ultra Swaddle" (see You Tube) but she eventually got too big and figured out how to break free from the then inadequately sized sheet. This zippered version should be the answer to this, and to a point it is. My problem with it is that it's just too stretchy! I have held off on writing a review, in case my problem with it was just because my son was on the lower end of the weight range for the size I bought, but sadly no. He is now on the upper end of that scale, and he can still manage to suck on his hands THROUGH the Woombie, and wakes up with a cold wet patch under his chin.If that wasn't an issue, I'd give it 5 stars. It's secure, he'd never get his arms out of it. It's easy to zip up, and I'm not worried about the zipper breaking or anything (maybe just catching his skin some day, eek!). The flap at the top, buttons over the zipper so it never rubs his skin. And I love that you can zip it open from the bottom and keep his hands tucked away up top, for diaper checks, or in my case, putting his hands back down by his sides for a while. His jerk reflex doesn't seem nearly as strong as my daughter's. I think he'll be in a normal baby sleeping bag, with his arms out, before long.

Worked great!
I wish I had bought this sooner - like the minute I brought son home. I struggled with swaddle blankets and even got Velcro ones which worked okay but not nearly as good as this. After I few days he knew that this blanket meant it was bed time. Now was it the miracle sleep tool? No. It didn't miraculously make him sleep through the night. But it did help get him to calm down and go to sleep and he really liked it. Plus he looked super cute in it. After he got a bit bigger he was able to stretch out the neck and stick his arm through the neck hole. Washing it often helped with that. But really he just got too big for it. We continued to zip it up over his legs for about 1 month before we abandoned it all together. By about 8.5 months he was sleeping swaddle free.
