Will the machine make Black coffee Americano style or do you have to add hot water to the espresso from a kettle?

Makes small or large expresso...depends on how long you leave your cup under. Or make small strong expresso and add hot water from steam spout. Hope this helps.

I think the problem is with terminology - This machine will not take PODS in in the same way you would buy them for (eg) Nespresso / Tassimo machines etc. This machine is designed to take ground coffee either in either 1 shot or 2 shot filters - However, it will take ESE BAGS - these are the equivalent of tea bags but with ground coffee instead. We use ESE decaffeinated bags purchased from "Next Day Coffee" - These fit snuggly into the machine and produce a great up of coffee.

Any ideas how to make this hot? just get luke warm drinks! this is replacement as thought first one was faulty but seems i have same issue!

Make sure you pre-heat the machine before making espresso, it probably needs 5 mins of warming up before it'll make hot drinks.
