I bought this to replace a small bookshelf we kept next to the front door to a small home.Assembly: It was overall very very difficult to assemble because I took about an hour of attempts to realize for the first step that the holes didn't line up perfectly the first two pieces to put together. It was infuriating, but after a while I managed to get everything together. The little drawer was also very difficult because it didn't have any pre-drilled holes, so if you managed to screw in the screws the wrong way, you were stuck with your mistake. I was able to use the provided screwdriver though, which was nice.Pros: The size was just what I wanted. I wanted the long one so that it took up most of the nook you can see in the picture. It also is not very deep. I found with a tape measure that I wanted a bench that didn't come more than 12 inches out from the wall. This one at 11.5 inches was prefect and hard to find. I like the space for the bigger shoes and the amount of space for the small shoes. The umbrella stand is a nice bonus as well because I now have a place for umbrellas I didn't have before. The cover for the bench has a zipper so you can take it off, wash, and replace it. The wood color matches well.Cons: The color of the cushion is hideous to me. I had to let it grow on me for a few hours before I decided not to return it. I thought it would be more of a beige color and it's instead more of a tan. It kind of looks like burlap up close too and that doesn't go with my taste right now. I figured I can make a new cushion cover seeing as this one has a zipper and seems like it's inviting me to replace it if I really hate it. The cushion is also not very soft. I don't think that's very necessary as a mudroom bench, but if you're looking for that, this might not be for you.

After much searching I decided to buy this bench because, along with a reasonable price, it has more style and functionality than anything else I could find in this price range. There is not only a taller space for a pair of boots but a rack on one side and a hidden drawer on the other! The only Cons are: 1. You really need two people to assemble this bench. It was very hard to do it alone. 2. The directions are small diagrams with very little text. I had to contact the vendor for additional information before I could make sense of the diagrams. The Pros: the seller was quick to respond to my messages and very helpful! Now that it is fully assembled this bench adds real value to my room and I am very happy to have it!

Very nice and sturdy bench. Not hard at all to assemble. I do however have an issue with the way the product was packaged. When I opened the box I noticed right away a few areas of damage. On one of the pre assembled parts a board was hanging loose. On another part It had about a one inch long gash about an 8th of an inch deep. I used wood filler, stain, and glue to make the repairs myself. This vendor really needs to review how they ship their product. Would have given it 5 stars if not for the damage.

This seemed like a great buy and it arrived way quicker than scheduled. When it arrived however, it was COVERED in dust and all scratched up. It came with poor instructions and a seemingly random assortment of screws and tools. See the picture I included? I didn't use one a whole set of screws that were in the package but not on the directions attached. The wooden pegs were all different sizes and none of them fit quite right. After an aggravating hour or two of assembly it was together and was (to my surprise) actually pretty sturdy! You can see in the other picture I included it can hold 2 very handsome lions. Joking aside it can hold my weight of 250lbs but only 4 pairs of shoes. I don't regret my purchase but I would have shopped around more before buying this had I known.

this is a good shoe rack bench at a reasonable price, and looks nice in our entryway. It took us half an hour to assemble, no thanks to the instructions, which are backwards and on occasion even incorrect (says to use the screwdriver in a couple of places when it's clearly the allen wrench you want). How you're supposed to hold up the pieces and which direction they need to face is also unclear, and we ended up reverse-engineering a lot, since the images did not give enough information. Otherwise a good product, fairly sturdy (I wouldn't have more than two people sit on it at the same time though), fits several pairs of shoes and has a side rack for things like umbrellas, magazines, etc, and a small drawer for knick-knacks. If you squish them in, it can fit a pair of boots, but probably not really tall ones unless you're willing to fold them. Seems good quality for its price too, made of bamboo, no unfinished pieces etc.

I was planning to give this product a 4, but had to drop to a 3. I found one of the shoe shelf end rails was split all the way across. I used clamps and some wood glue to correct it, and it doesn't show at at all. I didn't notice it pulling it out of the package, but did while assembling - easy for the manufacturer's quality inspections to miss.Pros:+ Nice sturdy bench+ Good, clear instructions...if read you shouldn't be putting parts together backwards and disassembling+ At least 1 extra of each piece of assembly hardware (bolts, dowels, etc.)+ Simple tools included+ Good finish for this price level of product...only 1 small surface defect which was easily covered by a brown expo marker+ Nice pads on the bottom of the legs - easy on flooring surfaces such as travertine or hardwoodCons:- Cracked shoe shelf cross member, needed repair- Would have been nice to include wood colored plugs to cover the bolts

It was not very easy to put together. Couple of screws were easy to be bent during the installation. The attached Allen wrench is cheap and made the situation worse. The wood/bamboo came with a kind of strong chemical smell which let me worry about my young kid to touch it in the first couple day. The paint is easy to be scratched. A little piece of paint came off when I just want to remove label stickers with my nail. It looks not bad, but its quality is not worth at this price.
