Just What I Needed
I purchased this product as an aid while I was installing wood to surround pieces of granite in an effort to determine the thickness of wood required to end up with the wood surrounds flush with the granite. The unit produced accurate and repeatable measurements for me.

Worth the money
I rated this 3 stars for the following:Accuracy: Tested it with my calipers and was dead on within the within the 2 decimals it displays (measured with mm).Construction: The spring inside and the threaded extensions all work well, has no real case to keep it in so you have to find your own, and comes with an extra battery. The one down side to this product was the battery compartment. There is a part that slides in to the battery compartment to hold in the battery which has a seal on it. The rubber seal does not fit properly, but with the right tools and a bit of time you can get it in securely. If you try to just "push it in" then it will not contact correctly and the unit will not turn on.Service/Deliver: Within the agreed upon time.Overall: I knew I was purchasing a "middle of the road" to "low end" unit and would classify what I got as "middle of the road", and would consider it worth the money.

A Doozy!
This is way better than I expected. I forget how much it cost but I remember feeling it was an expensive experiment as I was not at all sure about the quality. I bought it to measure the height of each fret above the fingerboard of a guitar. The difference in height from fret to fret can be very small (and very important to some guitars and their players) As I am barely a journeyman luthier I didn't want to spend the mega bucks for the best dial gauge in the land. For a modest investment I got a great digital gauge that will zero out in any position, will measure inches to the third decimal and will switch from metric to SAE in mid-process.I can think of lots of applications now that I have it.Buy this gauge, folks

Barely usable
Basically its barely usable. Tolerances are sloppy and its very plasticky. The threading on the extensions are very loose. I really don't think it’s a worthwhile purchase at this price.I really cant fathom how this will attach to a stand without deforming or cracking the plastic. That would seriously make any readings skeptical. However i didn’t buy it for super precision work so it will probably work fine for my use. Also i wouldn’t recommend leaving the battery installed. The one that came with it was drained so I'm guessing it has a high quiescent current.

made out of plastic feels cheap but works good for now
Havent had any problems with this. Nice that it has three different readings and zero reset at any point. Extensions are a nice touch too.

You get what you pay for.
Alright...it got me through machining class but once I took it into the work force after 1 month it stopped reading accurate measurements under one inch. The batteries died fast, when I use it the digital display is blinking even with a new batterie. I calibrated it on a granite table top using gauge blocks. Using a 0.10 gauge block on granite reads 0.0873, same think with the 0.250 and 0.500 gauge blocks. Anything under 1 inch is reading to low, you get what you pay for.

Works Great
For the price point you can't go wrong. Out of the package it was reading about 0.002mm off, I simply zeroed it out and it has worked fine since. I highly recommend this digital indicator.

Digital Reader that Works
This product is quite accurate. I have another gauge that I use that is spot on and this one has been right on the dot with it every time. I like it.

I like the inch/mm function myself
For the purposes I have used it for it has worked quite well . I have a Starrett 0-12" depth mic that has a larger base . This allows me to get into tighter spots and is quite accurate . I like the inch/mm function myself .
