100 Selected Stories

5 / 5 stars for the author, there can be no doubting the genius that Anton Chekhov was. The stories, so far as I have read, are very well written. Anton Chekhov was a minimalist; he never included details of things that did not play a significant part in the plot.Unfortunately, the last person who handled the book had not been very careful, and the book has marks of dirty fingers all over. Its disgusting to the eyes. The quality of the pages are not up to the mark.You can sure pay Rs. 170 (full price that I paid) and get the same book elsewhere, albeit cleaner than the one that I received.

This book contains stories that average 2 pages each and are not complete plot like stories. Rather they are like an artists sketch that gives you an insight into a particular scene. This is one of my favourite books. The author is a very good judge of human nature and he depicts it very beautifully. A must read for literature lovers and lovers of Russian literature can not afford to miss this one!

The book has good content but they delivered a musty smelling book which was in a damp place for many years i suppose.

I really disapponited when I recevived the book.Actual book costs in Rs.160 (in the print) But I payed Rs.479.96.Seller Name is MissBestSeller

No doubt the content of the book is important but must tell you the paper and print quality is Excellent if I compare it with other books I purchased from Amazon.

Books is amazing but their are lots of important stories which are not included one of them is "The Wife".

Just a little disappointed with the quality of the book.But it's a marvelous world that Chekhov creates in his story.Certainly worth buying it.

The Best short story writer ever maybe even better than Leo tolstoy(the best novelist).Anyone can connect to his stories,it seems like he is writing about India rather than Russia.
