We purchased these pepper sprays for two stray pitbulls which kept entering our yard and scaring our Aussie Shepherd, who is still just a puppy. The last time these two dogs came into our yard the male began growling at me. My wife had opportunity to use them one evening when the two dogs showed up, and even though she didn't hit either of them directly in the face - they were on the opposite side of a picket fence - the two dogs hightailed in out of the yard. In fact, they sat quite a distance away from our yard for about 20 minutes waiting for the effects of the spray to wear off. They haven't been back for several weeks now.
