Nice they give tool to replace battery.
Easy to install. Garmin works like new. Lot cheaper then buying a new GPS. Now have battery that takes a charge.

Connector wasn't compatible with the Garmin I was servicing
The battery connector was smaller than the one I was replacing so the connector / pins wouldn't line up during the replacement, I returned this battery

New life for my Garnin
When the battery went bad I thought my Garmin was a goner. It has new life. The instructional video walked me through the replacement process easily. The tools provided were perfect. And as a DIY project I’d give myself an A+.

Great. Though Install can be tricky.
I’m a dinosaur that still likes a freestanding GPS, so batter replacement was a good idea. The installation was a little tricky mostly because initially I had the plug upside down. I watched a YouTube installation video which helped. The GPS powered up right away and everything works great.

Fit with slight modification
This product was advertised as a direct replacement for the battery in my Garmin NUVI2589LMT GPS. Almost, but not quite. The battery lead extended from the right top corner horizontally. that was the only way the lead was long enough to reach the connection to the unit. This resulted in an interference fit and sever bending of the battery lead with a vertical divide in the case that is designed to contain the battery. I ended up slicing off about 1/16 inch of this case material so the lead was not pinched between the battery and the divide. The battery fully charged in about 4 hour time. The original battery was 7 years old would not hold a charge for more than 3 days before it was useless. We will see how long this one holds a charge.The Torque head screw driver that came with the kit was a T4. The screws on mine are a T5, luckily I had the right size.Also, I could not get the CD to load on my Windows 10 machine. I ended up going to the Newpower99 web page, found the battery and downloaded the video as it was included with the product description.

It’s a new life for my Garmin Navi
Worked perfect. My Garmin Navi had completely stopped working after 6 yrs, wouldn’t turn on. Last time it just need to be updated. This time nothing. Replaced the battery and she is as good as new. Saved me several hundred dollars on a new Navi.

It did not fit the gps unit!
Dislike. The battery connection plug did not fit the gps unit. A waste of money!

Poor contacts on the plug. Poor quality control.
Easy to install but the battery plug contacts did not make contact without playing with it. (connecting & reconnecting 3-4 times and pushing on the plug to make contact.) I have replaced many batteries like this in GPS's, I-phoned & portable phones without a problem of the plug making contact. I bought this battery based on price. I will not purchase from this vendor or this brand of battery.BUYER BEWARE!
