I can't say enough good things about my Hamilton Beach Easy Reach toaster oven. It was delivered the day I bought it, as you can see from the picture it is a pretty oven, and it's got weight to it - this is a sturdy piece of merchandise. After washing the rack & grill.pan, I turned the knob to 450 as recommended. I see why some people are having problems with the knobs, there are push buttons on each side of the knob and they're not very visible, but once you press them down, the knob turns easily. I didn't see it mentioned in the instructions.I use the top knob to put the oven on the recommended temperature and then used the timer to set the darkness of the toast. There's tiny symbols that are not very clear it would be better to have "dark "medium" and "light "But I set it between the dark & light and it made a perfect piece of toast, and after that a perfect frozen waffle and crisp bacon.All toaster ovens get hot outside but I would say this one is well insulated because it was no more than warm on the outside.I placed it on a small freestanding about 8 in high, so it not only gets a lot of ventilation but it's much easier to see inside the oven and not have to bend over it to see the numbers.If it has a fault it is the size of the numbers. They're located around the knob and are very light. When I am a little more acquainted with it I am going to use a permanent marker to make a dot beside the settings I use most.The pan warped immediately as they all do although it had straightened out when it cooled. I plan to use it as a drip tray, and use some small pans and glass cookware that fit in it.It is very well made, has enough weight that it doesn't slide around, and after using the easy reach door I will never buy another toaster oven without it. No burning your wrist as you try to get a hot pan out of a tiny stove opening. It heats up quickly, and evenly.And it really looks great on the counter.

I will write this review in three parts: arrival and packaging; instruction/1st heat set; and first actual food use.I could not believe the arrival speed, the first delivery date was set for January 3, 2025. The oven arrived December 31, 2024, two days after ordering! That was fast!Next, no matter the product, I have always requested that my purchases be shipped in an outer box for protection and against prying eyes!This appliance comes in a very stiff cardboard box surrounded by styrofoam, in other words, well-packed to guard against box punctures. Mine had a minor box puncture but it did not affect the oven! So far, I am pleased that Hamilton-Beach desires a "thoughtful" presentation. Now for the instructions.I'm sure many have opened products only to be greeted with an instruction booklet either too small to read or print requiring a magnifying glass; confusing or misleading language; and lots of pictures with no explanation or please refer to diagrams 1-A2-3B on opposite page 5. You won't get that with this appliance. Again, Hamiliton-Beach wrote a clear and concise instruction booklet with pictures detailing all the cooking processes this attractive little appliance will accomplish along with proper care and maintenance. Easy to read large print and understandable language!Needless to say, for the price, and without all the bells and whistles of expensive appliances that are complicated, and for a single senior man without family to care for, this is a perfect fit for my cooking needs. I do have a well-supplied well-stocked kitchen with all the appliances to create great meals because I enjoy cooking. This is an addition to my kitchen, for quick and simple, that I will enjoy having.It was time to say goodbye to the ancient single-function toaster!My second review will discuss the cooking in a few weeks. Stay tuned. Happy New Year and Happy Cooking!January 4, 2025I am now ready for my final critique. But allow me this qualifying statement.This is a "Toaster Oven" first and foremost. I will never cook any meat in this appliance, that is what a conventional oven is for! The operative word in the description is "Toaster." Its primary function is toasting, re-heating, warming, and light baking, nothing more.I have tried all of the functions listed and this unit, little as it is, is quite impressive! Nothing that I tried was over done or too dry. The dials are basic and that is okay, there is no need to be complicated when heating food. For my needs, this is a keeper. And the design reminds me of the old "roll-top office desks" long ago. It's compact and a great counter space saver. Thank you, and again Happy cooking!

I received this toaster oven today and so far I've only tried toast in it which it does an awesome job toasting. it comes with a wire rack and then the wire rack has a little shelf under it that you can put the roasting pan onto to use as a drip pan for if you do meats like chicken or fish on top of the wire rack so their juices go into the drip pan. the drip pan can be taken out from under the wire rack and use on top of the wire rack for things like potatoes and french fries and roasting vegetables etc. I gave it a four star review for now until I try other things like chicken and fish because I only tried toast for now which as I said turned out awesome (see pictures) I really like that it is roll top door which saves on counter space and keeps you safe from getting burned like others do with doors that lay down in the counter . there is no odd smells from this when it's running and obviously it's not very loud because my dog was not afraid of it and she is usually afraid of appliances when they are running but this did not phase her at all. it will be a great asset to me for the summer months when I don't want to use the big stove just to make chicken or fish sticks or to just reheat leftovers etc i also plan to try some beef with vegetables in it at some point. once I try these items I may come back and give it a five star review so keep watching for an update

I am really impressed with this toaster oven.Amazing design, especially the door.which slides behind the oven.
