It’s actually working
I have been fighting a losing battle with the nitrates in my 75 gallon tank for over a month. I was about to lose my mind because nitrates remained around 80 ppm and I was losing fish almost daily. Last weekend I cleaned the canister filter, added half a liter of Denitrate, and did an 80% water change. I lost 3 fish in the meantime because the irreversible damage had already been done but now, a week later, my nitrates have been cut in half and the remaining fish are all acting just fine. This product has been a lifesaver! I did make the mistake of adding Denitrate directly to the baskets in my filter and some of the pieces were so light weight they were sucked up through the filter and into the aquarium, almost destroying the propeller. So I had to take the filter apart and place all the Denitrate in a media bag. However other than that, this product has performed better than expected and highly recommended.

Can’t hurt.
Hard to say, was about 6 weeks into a fishlrss cycle. My ammonia and nitrites were consistently at zero, but nitrates were fluctuating between 40 and 80 ppm . After 6 weeks I added denitrate to my bag of matrix.8 weeks later n, nitrates slowly started to decrease. One week ago, did a 25 % water change followed by a 75% water change a few days later. Tested water after a day and nitrates were at zero. So not sure if the nitrate process completed its cycle in spite of the denitrate or was aided by the denitrate.

nitrates now = zero
I used this in combination with Prodibio Bio Digest bacteria on two tanks, one with about 10 ppm nitrate and one with around 30. I used one ampule of the bacteria in the 25 gallon tank and two ampules in the 90 gallon tank. I added some Seachem Denitrate media in each of four canister filters, so the bacteria would have a good place to grow (in one tray of each canister filter and in a dark bag in the back corners of each tank near the inflow tubes for the canisters where there is mild water flow). The dark bags contain about a liter of Denitrate each, and they are fat enough to have protected centers where anaerobic bacteria should be able to survive, while the outside and the high flow canisters favor aerobic bacteria. In two and a half weeks, the nitrate readings on both tanks are down to zero. Astonishing. I have kept goldfish for decades and have always had problems with nitrates. I have tried all sorts of products, and this combination is the first that has worked.

Waiting for results
I've only had it in my tank for two days. So far my nitrates have not lowered.

MAGICAL
This is MAGICAL. I was measuring ~50ppm in my fully stocked 10g and 20g. After a few weeks with this stuff in my filter, my tanks just measured 2ppm in my 20g, and 10ppm in my 10g. It took a few weeks to work but I am so happy with it.I was looking at reverse osmosis and other options but they were far more expensive. My tap measures 40ppm, so this was a big problem.Other reviews mentioning that it quickly becomes ineffective and you must replace it regularly are misled. These rocks only allow denitrifying bacteria to grow on its very porous surface. As long as the filter isn’t clogged, these should work for at least a couple months.

Really good buy
Absolutely amazing! I'm veryyyyy new to fish keeping I have a 65 gal african cichlid tank and I've had two mass die offs and just could not figure out what I was doing wrong and why I couldn't keep my water healthy. I've been using this about 4 months now and I've not lost a single fish in the time. Ammonia nitrate and nitrites have all been perfect the hole time.
