Sturdy Metal Construction & Easy To Adjust Precisely
Ready to use out if the box. Well constructed. It's easy to use and has a very precise mechanism which allows the user to align the camera to the eyepiece. Can be used with binoculars, telescopes and microscopes. It would be better if it were constructed from a lighter weight metal. Make sure that the 1.77 in capacity for the diameter of your eyepiece is enough. My binoculars had a 1.5 inch eyepiece, however the rubber eyecups brought the diameter to just over the maximum capacity of the unit. If your eye pieces are 1.5 in and have rubber cups, then I recommend that you purchase the Celestron - NexYZ DX Kit - 3-Axis Universal Smartphone Adapter. I am awaiting delivery of one of these models today which allows for up to 2 inch eyepieces. I will continue to use my present unit for my microscope and my telescope.

works decently, but can be a huge pain to setup in the dark
last night i used this adapter to take these two pics of saturn and jupiter, (screencapped from videos), but i will say that the only thing that made me able to do this, was the fact that there was a nice bright street light nearby for me to point my telescope at, so that i could get my phone camera perfectly lined up with the eyepiece lens, because otherwise there is no way to do it at all, because the darkness you see when pointing your phone's camera at the black plastic surrounding the lens, and pointing straight into the lens at nothing, look the same. this isn't necessarily a flaw of the product, just a flaw of the overall idea, and no, i can't think of a practical and reliable way to solve the problem aside from just pointing it at something bright and unmoving while you get it lined up. another problem, which isn't a problem with the product but is still something annoying to consider, is that smartphones have power and volume buttons on the side most of the time. if your phone is like mine, you can only line up the camera with the eyepiece by clamping the mount on your phone so that the volume buttons are being pressed down. it is possible to mount it lightly enough that they aren't being pressed, but it makes for a very tenuous mounting situation because your phone isn't being held very securely, and you're supposed to mount your phone in it without a case on your phone. overall it just seems like a recipe for a disaster waiting to happen. so yeah, do with this information what you will.

Just a good product with a major flaw
I like that metal part that attach to the eyepiece is metal and feels really sturdy, however the phone adapter is another story, specially the knob to tighten your smartphone. It just broke in less than a month, so disappointed right now because I love this brand.

Trip to Alaska!
This smartphone adapter for the celestron binoculars was difficult to get the hang of at first, but so worth it. We took it on our trip to Alaska and it allowed us to see so much wildlife we wouldn't otherwise have been able to see. We were able to take pictures through it, but also zoom in with our phones to see more. It was well worth it even after getting the hang of it. Don't get too frustrated, just keep messing with it until you can get it right. The only annoying part was trying to switch between phones because you had to readjust all settings because the camera locations are different on different phones.

Nearly impossible to attach to binoculars by oneself
I got this as part of a bundle with a pair of Celestron binoculars. Its nearly impossible to attach it correctly on your own, it really needs a third hand to attach (one to hold the binoculars, one to hold the phone in the exact right position, and a third to tighten the back screw). Some other negatives: - The space between the eyepiece holder and the phone mount point is to shallow. For the Celestron binoculars that it came with, attaching the eyepiece holder securely to the eyepiece, the eye cups stick out further than the phone mount bed, so the phone can't be attached flat against the bed. - As mentioned above, it really takes 3 hands to correctly mount to binoculars. Might not be a problem with a telescope, but it was bundled with binoculars, so I expected it to work with them. - As you tighten the back screw to keep the phone in the right place, even if you're careful tightening it causes it to tilt the phone slightly. This adjusts the phone's view, making it not centered unless you take that into account with the phone's position before tightening it. - The rubber mount points for both the eyepiece and phone are not soft enough. If you tighten it too much, you can break your binoculars or phone. The adapter would be 1000x better if the phone placement adjuster didn't allow the phone to move freely, and instead worked similar to the phone bed screw, where tightening/loosening it would adjust its position.

Works
Works, albeit one needs to get used to lining it up. With my I phone it’s necessary to focus then put the phone on and line it up. I have a fair spotting scope and have had good success.

When I decided I would try my skills with a telescope, I soon learned I had zero skills. I watched many YouTube videos in regards to different setups that others were using. Of course they all had thousands of dollars in equipment that I couldn’t afford. I looked for the cheapest but most practice ideas for my budget. This piece was so easy to use. Not an easy setup at first, trying to adjust for perfect viewing but once it was set up, I was golden and on my way. Too cold outside for me to setup the telescope at the moment but I plan on being out there this spring, summer and fall to get as much photography as I can. Good luck to all who enjoy this area.
