It Works Well
I just received this item today and, of course, immediately placed it onto my Canon 50mm 1.4 lens. It fits perfectly and will certainly do just as good a job as Canon's lens hood (for roughly an additional $13 or so, depending on where you buy it).To use this item, just squeeze the tabbed areas on the sides to place it onto your lens for shooting (to prevent ambient light from straying across the lens) and then squeeze to remove it and reverse its position to store it in your gear bag. It works well.There's not much more to say: It's a piece of circular plastic with a purpose...and a much better buy than Canon's own.
