Great VR headset, by far the best Windows Mixed Reality headset - great for kids too
I caught this unit on a really great sale price, and you cannot beat it for the price. Since this headset allows for eye width adjustment it allows everyone in my family to play! It is also great for fitting on different sized headsds, I have a VERY large head and this fits me and will also get small and tight enough fit my 6 year old and 3 year old daughters, and the eye adjustment is great for them! I mostly have just been playing Steam VR with this headset because Windows Mixed Reality (WMR - Windows name for VR) is supported on Steam. Viveport also supports WMR and has a pretty good subscription based program where you pay monthly and get access to a large amount of games! The visual quality of the Samsung Odyssey + is fantastic, all text in any game or other situations is very clear and that is not something every VR headset can deliver. The tracking has been pretty great as well, and Samsung has done a great job of keeping track of the controllers when out of view of the headset cameras. They keep up with tracking when out of sight by tracking movement and acceleration via blutooth with the controllers (which is built into the headset), so as long as you are not just holding the controller completely still out of site then tracking will still work well, like in beat saber when cutting blocks to the far left or right. I only lost tracking once when holding my lefty controller down by my side and not moving it for a while when I I was using the right controller to mess with settings in a game menu for a bit, and it took a second or 2 of waving the controller in front of me for it to re-calibrate the tracking, but in game this hasn't been an issue because I am almost always holding my hands up a little right below my chest and the headset can track that just fine. The tracking on this headset is MUCH better than the tracking on PSVR as well. I have even had a very good results playing archery games with this headset, occasionally lining up the controllers for a bow shot can get a little wonky but for the most part it works great for those games as well and you learn the one or two positions that can get really bad and you adjust and avoid them, it definitely is not a deal breaker. All in all I would highly suggest this headset over most headsets on the market for the price and all the adjustable settings - unless you are willing to pay for the Valve Index with its amazing headset and base station tracking - but the index is 3 to 4 TIMES more expensive than the odyssey, so I chose the Odyssey and have been very satisfied!

Windows Mixed Reality is BETTER than people think.
This headset is sweet. The tracking on the controllers is quite good, everything feels good quality. Comfort is good, but you can elevate it to excellent comfort by purchasing a nice leather VR headset cover and replacing the cloth one on the headset. Just makes it easier to clean and helps you keep cooler, and gives a better cushion feel.A huge plus with this headset over more expensive ones is that despite being half the price of the Index and Vive Pro, the display on this headset is as good as, and sometimes even better, than those headsets. Of course, it's Samsung we're talking about, Samsung's displays on every product have been the absolute peak top tier since the early 2000's at this point. The controllers use 2 AA batteries each, and will drain through them in under 6 hours, so you should seriously consider getting a 4-slot AA battery recharger and an 8 pack of rechargable AA's. You can get these on Amazon but also find them in various stores in isles that sell batteries.People complain about Windows Mixed Reality (WMR), but I haven't had any troubles with it besides it sometimes not saving my room boundary setting, which takes all of 30 seconds to re-setup. WMR is a nice way to create a hub to launch all your VR apps and games directly from the headset, and allows you to quickly view and interact with your desktop without ever taking the headset off. It's not perfect, and it can be a bit of a pain every so often, but most of the time I find it to be a pretty nice addition that just adds a lot to this headset. Now, this headset used to go on sale for $300-$350 very often. If you're just looking for a headset that you'll pick up in the future, then definitely wait for now, because it's very obvious (as of June 2020) to anyone looking for VR headsets on Amazon or elsewhere that there's no stock for anything anywhere that isn't used. That being said, this is pretty much the only headset for PC gaming on Amazon that's ever in stock in the past month, and who knows how long the stock will last, so if you can't wait and want VR NOW, then get it, it's worth the $500 even if you could have saved some money in the long run.
