Can the sony ier-m9 work with a windows pc using the 3.5 mm connection? would i need other hardware? will there be any audio quality loss if yes?

If you want to use PC as source, I recommend you to buy the RME-ADI 2 FS or Chord Mojo 2. Your PC will send digital signal without noise to Mojo2 or RME and it converts the digital to analog signal cleanly. If you plug the headphone directly to 3.5mm, it will tap into the noise from the PC and the 3.5mm does not have enough current to drive the full potential of headphone. You will lose details.

The sound quality of the IER-M9 is miles ahead. The details, instrument separation, timbre, soundstage and dynamics are simply far better.

Can these be moved with just an iPhone?

Are these sweat and dust resistant?

I have sweat with these while playing the drums. I have had no issues. As far as dust resistant. I do not know of any headphone/ear-monitor that has ever succumb to dust. I keep them in the case anyway. I hope that helps.
