Dual Core Smart Mini PC TV Box

The delivery wasn't as fast as other items I purchased from Amazon, went over a week before it shipped, but was adequate. The unit does great turning your TV into a laptop computer but for watching Netflix or Amazon videos the video was choppy. I have the fastest internet service my provider offers at 50 mps, but possibly because this is connected wirelessly via router it causes the delay. Since there is no remote, its cumbersome to pull out my wireless keyboard and mouse just to use this unit. I have an older Vizio Co Star, that was a fantastic unit that allowed open browsing of the internet, a great video feed to the streaming services, and ability to download apps as well as a remote. Even the Google TV options still works great with my Direct TV box showing more info than the cable box on movies and shows. Only problem with it as it gets older camera sights update, it is no longer supported by Vizio, Amazon Video or Adobe. I was looking for something to replace it, this ain't it.....

I was really concerned that I would be making a mistake, but your reviews help me move forward. This device is very intuitive. There have been a couple times when I ran into the unexpected, but there is enough information online about these devices that it was easy to discover the remedy. It is interesting that you cannot stream Amazon Instant Video on this device. I have to rely on another device to get AIV. On this device, however, I can stream online content from Xfinity, which is a real plus. I am quite enjoying this unit. It is very easy to download apps. I have downloaded a variety ranging from "weather" to "word processing," Though I am using this unit primarily to convert a basic television into a smart TV, this also makes a great little computer. I added an Amazon hub and was able to review documents from a jump drive. I can get email on this unit. I am using a wireless keyboard to navigate. My television is capable of receiving input from HDMI, which is the mode of connectivity for this unit. The unit is powered from the television via a cable which fits into the USB port on the television. I am not as tech-savvy as many persons who commented on the unit. I will say that you will enjoy this intuitive unit.

Exactly what I was looking for! I now truly have a "smart" TV. Search internet, play videos, music, and anything else I want to. I used to have my laptop hookup to the TV to watch some movies...no more. Had a wireless keyboard laying around and it paired perfectly as well as did the Bluetooth. Many many options/features. Best bang for the buck and you might as well return Google chromecast if you purchased it as this blows it out of the water!I'm thinking I will try to return my chromecast as it doesn't come close in comparisons to this. Although the picture quality in chromecast is much better, but you're very limited to what you can do in chromecast. .Picture quality is ok, not truly the best crisp picture, but good quality. Easy to setup, just make sue you have a wireless mouse/keyboard otherwise you won't be able to do much. this contraption is basically a mini computer that allows you to do just about anything you can on your tablet pc, right on your tv. I was able to download, Xfinity TV, HBO, Netflix. Pandora to start, and on the internet I get HULU (regular), youtube, although you can down load in the play store.Internet search speed is fast, was able to look up some property in Zillow and it was nice to see it on the big screen.I cut my cable tv cord, but now I get local news from the internet, and few other free shows. excellent!

I purchased this unit pretty much only for the NBA League Pass. My Logitech Revue has been slipping down the "quality experience" slope, so this was purchased as a new replacement... I've been through two Revues, one Hisense Pulse and now this.. This device did not change the fact that the Revue (RIP) is still my favorite GTV device.Pros: Full access to the android store on your TV .. Any content that is blocked out on GoogleTV is available to this device. I always wanted to play Angry Birds on my TV!!! That's it.Cons: Misses the Smart-TV mark by a long shot. This device basically just turns your TV into a Tablet, minus the touch screen. I'm not sure how much more powerful the quad core is, but this dual core seems to be lacking when rendering high-action picture. The League Pass stream was not smooth and HD.. it was irritating, blurry artifacts and blocky. Same with Netflix, though not as blurry. Since the major reason I bought this was for the open streaming platform, I returned it, and to much chagrin, went with an AppleTV (sorry Google).Now, before someone says the poor experience was due to my internet connection, don't, because it wasn't.

Nice little device. Easy to setup. Boots up and displays google's android 4.2 in about 30 sec.With a wireless keyboard attached I was off and navigating all the apps and playing online contentwith the built in browser,the Netflix app and YouTube without issues. Good pic quality when streaming1080p content online.I was hoping to play back my network library of movies and music and that's really where it fallsshort. This device just doesn't have enough juice to decode 1080p video over a wireless networkor even off an external drive connected via usb. Playback is fine at standard def but the hd fileswould lag and freeze. The device says it can do 3D and full 1080p but that is strictly for onlinecontent. Overall the functionality of it is great. Like an android on the tv.Will have to settle for an android box for better decoding of hd files.
