It was great to start with but after just 11 months the sensor stopped sensing correctly and the light came on randomly and stayed on until the power was reset. Reading other reviews it would seem that this is quite a common fault.I have to admit that I am more than happy to edit my review to reflect the vendors in a very positive light after experiencing one of the best examples of customer service that I have experienced.I didn't return my faulty item nor did I complain to the vendor directly however they picked up on this comment on the Amazon feedback page explained that they offered a 3 year warranty and unilaterally shipped me a replacement. I can't fault them on any point of their aftercare or their dedication to customer satisfaction. So to reflect my overall experience I am changing my review to 5 stars for excellent after-sales care.

Bought this last year .had it installed but within about 8 months started playing up then it packed up altogether just very faint led light. tried contacting seller but just ended up going round in curcles .wish i had read reviews has this seems to be a problem with some of these lights. I have now got to buy another light and pay an electrician to come and replace . Had the old type lights and bulbs up for 7 years with no problem. only changed thought led would be better . Wish i haddent binned old ones . Electrician came round today and took down satasun led and as you can see from photos of light after being opened. and you can see its not waterproof look at rusty screws .water stains . Condensation on the lens . After only 8 months How did they get ip rating for somthing that is sold as waterproof when clearly is not . And i would class as dangerous water and electricity together ( realy ) .would not recommended. dont waste your money and time. and electricians cost .would like to give no stars but not an option

UPDATE June 2019:I've had these lights nearly two years now, fitted to the outside of my house. While I was on holiday recently, the power went off to my house. After investigating, I discovered the cause to be these lights! They have both LEAKED VERY BADLY - one of them in particular has filled with a significant amount of water (see picture). It had blown the 3A fuse it was connected to and also tripped the RCD in the consumer unit. I really wouldn't recommend these units based on this! They are clearly NOT WATERPROOF and not safe to be fitted in an outdoor location.__ORIGINAL REVIEW__I bought two of these nearly a year ago and they have been brilliant! The light is VERY bright - easily equivalent (brighter if anything) to the 500W Halogens I replaced with them. The sensitivity of the PIR sensor is very good - the one at the back of the house always switches on as soon as I poke a hand or foot out of the patio door! It completely floodlights the entire back garden (approx 15x15 meters).The only slight negative points are the very short lead with moulded plug which I had to cut off to wire it into a waterproof junction box (why such a short lead, and why a moulded plug!???) ...and the wall bracket is a little too short (close to the wall) so it isn't possible to angle the light completely downwards which I needed for the walkway at the side of the house - I had to extend the bracket slightly in the end.

Brilliant light, totally lights up the garden. The power cord is too short though and no access to wire another cable in. An inline power connector did the trick though so just be aware you will probably need to fit one. Take care not to mount the lamp to high on the wall as bracket does not accommodate the angle required. At the recommended height it is fine.

In total, I purchased 4 of these units. First of all, the build quality of the PIR is poor. You feel that within a short space of time it will become brittle and fail. It doesn't feel like an outdoors product because of this.Anyway, one was broken out of the box. The PIR "stalk" had broken. I returned for refund.The remaining 3 installed and worked OK. They give a bright, cold light. But after 3 months, one of them was looking a bit dim. As can be seen from the product picture there are 10 "elements". On this particular unit, 4 had failed, so I was getting only 60% illumination. I don't know if they all failed at the same time, or progressively. I would estimate that it has been on for about an hour a day - so 90 hours' usage. Far short of the proclaimed 5000 hours.So that's 2 out of 4 failed within 3 months. Enough for me to avoid in the future.** EDIT 22/05/2017 **The supplier has contacted me a few times, keen to replace the faulty unit. For the time being, I do not have access to either remove the old unit, or put in a new one. I cannot fault the responsiveness of the supplier. Since my earlier report, all elements have stopped working. It looks like water has got inside, though this has not tripped the RCD to which it is connected. The other two units installed at the same time are still working fine.** EDIT 24/05/2017 **The supplier has now sent me a replacement and I will update my review after a few weeks. The supplied unit is the same as before, but the packaging has been improved. As poor packaging was probably the reason why I had a dead on arrival, I'm increasing my rating to 3 stars and changing the title of my review.
