CD Thoughts
CD is pretty damn good. The design of the whole CD is amazing, and Doom's soundtrack is undoubtedly one of the best game soundtracks ever. Very nice 👌 🔥

The Most Genre-Defining Soundtrack of the '10s Decade
If you know, you know. If not, then all I can say is play Doom, and you'll know. This album is a brilliant amalgamation of death metal, djent, film score, and dark ambient. Gordon's almost ADHD-styled composition is ever-present in this score. There is constant movement in each track, even when the action slows, but rest assured, "business will pick up" (to borrow a quote from Good ol' JR). The sound design and approach is a stroke of brilliance. Everything from custom-made synths to the blended chainsaw and distorted guitars (yes, this is real). Much like "The Matrix" influenced its decade, and the movie "300" influenced cinema; what Cher did for Autotune and hip-hop (for better or worse), Doom continues to influence multimedia to this day.

METALLLL
iD's approach to Doom2016 was moving things forward by taking a step back into the past, and it worked out beautifully. This is especially apparent in the soundtrack, which lifts some of the more memorable old musical cues from the series and folds them into a blend of dark, industrial techno Djent BRVTAL metal that just works. In-game, the soundtrack legitimately makes you feel like an unstoppable death engine that even the legions of Hell are afraid of. It almost seems like it's meant to keep pushing you forward because even though you're fighting freaky-ass hell demons, the music kicks in to remind you that you are Death Incarnate and you. Are. METAL. The OST adds some organization to the soundtrack so that you can listen to it on the go. The whole thing is atmospheric and moody. The standout tracks, in my opinion, are Rip and Tear and BFG Division. I can listen to those two tracks on repeat forever.Get it if you like Metal or Doom. It's awesome.

What's not to love?
It's the Doom (2016) soundtrack. Packaging was great, but the music is fantastic if you liked the game.

A bit skippy
The vinyl looks beautiful. But I have notice that it makes pop sounds frequently. It isn't static, but I think really tiny scratches. Mainly in the very bassy parts (which is most of the record). But it doesn't take the enjoyment of listening to it away that much.
