Not Quite Mine
This is the second book in the "Not Quite" series and the story of Katie and Dean.Katie has always been in love with Dean. After seeing each other secretly for a while she lets him go when she learns some terrible news about her future and wants him to have everything he ever wanted. She's always been the party girl on the front page of the tabloids and with different men all the time so it was easy for her to make him believe she was done with him. Her life is empty but life is about to show her that no matter what you plan, fate is always going to step in and ruin your best laid plans. On the night of her brother's wedding, after she returns to her suite she receives an unexpected visitor. A two week old baby girl is left at her door along with a very personal letter and custody papers. Who can be the mother of this little girl? Who can just leave such a sweet girl just like that? Will she keep her? After all she is everything Katie has ever wanted.Dean is working hard and trying to forget how messed up his life has been lately. Dumped over a year ago by the only girl he's ever truly loved. Then dumped by his fiance only a week before the wedding without any explanations. After grieving he realized that Megan did him a favor by calling off the wedding since he never really loved her the way he loves Katie. Now he has Katie close, working with him on his latest project and this time he won't let her get away. He won't sneak around again so he tells Jack all about his feelings for his sister and his plans for pursuing her. But there's something wrong, Katie is hiding something and he just can't let it go until he finds out what's going on. This time he will make give in to the feelings she has for him. They're meant to be together and this time he wants forever. But when new information about baby Savannah comes to light it might ruin everything they've worked so hard to achieve in their relationship. Will they loose each other again or realize the only happiness they'll find is with each other? This book wasn't better than the first one but not so bad either. I didn't like all the secrecy, it was kind of pointless. Also it was very predictable. However, the story was interesting and kept me reading. I will definitely read the next book in the series, "Not Quite Enough" the story of Monica and Trent.

Fun & Touching Romance
Not Quite Mine is the 2nd book in the Not Quite series by Catherine Bybee. I read book two before the first book, Not Quite Dating. While you can read each book in the series as a stand alone, I recommend starting with book one first.Katie Morrison is a pampered, Texas hotel heiress to the Morrison Hotels. She loves tight mini skirts, the spotlight, and has had her share of dates. All of that comes to a screeching halt when a sweet baby girl (Savannah) is left on her doorstep. Katie has been yearning for a baby, and it the abandoned baby girl seems to be a godsend.Dean Prescott is Katie’s ex, and the lead building contractor for the Morrison Hotels. He has been asked by his best friend, Mike (Katie’s brother) to watch over Katie while he is out of town. Dean knows that something is up with Katie, and he sets out to find out exactly what it is.I chose to listen to book one first because of the whole ‘baby left on a doorstep’ thing, and blurb sounded good. The story moved along quickly, and there were a few misunderstandings, and a whole lot of fireworks between Dean and Katie. There is a little mystery as to who baby Savannah’s mother is, but I guessed who it was about half way through the book.I enjoyed this book, and the friendships between Mike, Dean, Katie, and Monica. There was some steam in this book, and the chemistry between Katie and Dean was palpable. I love a story where everyone gets their happy ever after, and this one did. Even though there were a few moments where I thought, ‘tell him already!’ We weren’t kept in the dark too long.I am not sure how many men in Texas are actually like Dean, but I am sure there are a few. The story was mostly believable, but the wonderful thing about fiction romance is that it can be larger than life.I wasn’t to sure about the narrator, Amy McFadden, at first, but after listening to the first chapter she grew on me and I realized that she was a perfect choice for this story. She has the Texas drawl down pat.I recommend this book to anyone looking for a touching, and fun romance read.

Not as good as the first book.
Still a good story, probably 3.5 stars. Not sure where the other books will go, but will most likely read them. These are stories that are hopeful and satisfying.

I have read nearly every book Catherine Bybee writes. Always fun and somewhat unpredictable other than a happy ending (which is the reason why I read her books), I learn about the era in which she writes.Truly recommend all the serie.

I loved it
This book had me giggling at times. This book is right up my street and right from the word go i was drawn into the story.Katie is the sister of Jack from the previous book and she is always in the press being an heiress to billions from her fathers hotel chain. After going back to her suite in Texas after her brothers wedding with Monica there is a knock on the door where she finds a two week old baby girl. She immediately falls in love with an although there are papers stating that she has adopted her she immediately calls a PI to investigate who the mother is.Knowing she needs to keep all of this secret until it is resolved the flies to California in economy with Monica and the baby (Savannah).Dean his Jacks best friend and has a past with Katie. They had previously dated in secret, but when she lost their baby and was told she would never have children she breaks up with him.Dean has been asked by Jack to check on Katie as she is acting strange, when he goes to her suite the day after the wedding he finds the baby but thinks nothing of it.When she flees he follows, but finds her at his construction site in her short skirt and heels. His attraction to her has never stopped and when h realises that he never loved his previous fiancé he tells Jack that he is making a serious play for his sister again!Dean pursues Katie and eventually finds out about Savannah and is left speechless. Not long after he asks Katie to move in with him. When they find out separately who the mother is and then the father there is a little wobble, but as in every good Catherine Bybee book things get sorted out and we get a brilliant ending.I love this series.
