Vampires Like It Hot: An Argeneau Novel: 28 : Sands, Lynsay: desertcart.co.uk: Books Review: Vampirates rule the Seas - Vampires Like it Hot (Argeneau Vampires 28) Author: Lynsay Sands Publisher: Gollancz Page count: 273 pages Release date: 20th Sept 18 Reviewer: Theresa Derwin Student and psychologist Jess Stewart, is away at Punta Cana for her cousinโs wedding. Unfortunately sheโs been lumped with the job of babysitting spoilt and whiney maid of honour Allison, another cousin. After a visit to the Seaquarium, Allison runs into a Captain Jack Sparrow lookalike, who talks her and then Jess to join them on their boat for โfeeding the sharksโ along with other tourists. When they get there, they find out who the sharks are, as a boat filled with vampire-pirates (vampirates) bites the tourists, mindwipes them and sends them on their way. For Jess however, the boat trip is a nightmare, as cheesy vampire Vasco realises he canโt read or control her, concluding sheโs heโs life mate. Pardon the fishy puns, heโs not exactly a fine catch! As he traps her in his cabin and plans to snack on her cousin whilst he ravishes her, he expresses his romantic inclinations with compliments like, โDamn, I do like them jugs, lovey.โ To add insult to injury, he has greasy hair and is kind of pungent. Though she does admire his choice in books. Jess manages to escape and jump into the sea for a three hour swim back to shore. Lucky for her, she is spotted by immortal cousins Raffaele, Santo and Zanipolo. Santo - fans of this series may remember - was held hostage a few books ago, and tortured by Dressler. The cousins have took him on holiday as past trauma, brought back by recent months, have hit him hard and the only choice may be to wipe his mind if he doesnโt deal with this. Back on safe land, for now, Jess is looked after by the Italian immortals. Thankfully, her attraction toward Rafaelle is ignited. Though Vasco, the pirate is hard to resist, as long as he doesnโt open his mouth, Jess whilst attracted to Vasco, likes Raffaele. โVasco was a walking nightmare, a bloodthirsty vampire eager to turn her into soulless demon spawn, while Raffaele was a knight in shining armor.โ Yes, of course. Jess has no clue Raffaele is a โvampireโ, too. This novel has everything I enjoy about the Argeneau series; sexy characters, erotica at just the right level for me, romance, tonnes of humour and intrigue. In particular, I was impressed that this dealt with the theme of consensual sex, historical abuse and control in partnerships, themes she has dealt with previously in this series. A lot of the advice delivered by Jess, as she talks about her own earlier experiences, is actually very useful, sound and delicately put. Plus, Rafe and Jess are both in love with my favourite show. โI want to watch Supernatural with him, and action movies.โ Yep, sounds good to me! I really hope we get to see what happens next with Vasco and Ildaria though, as well as Santo. I canโt wait for the next novel, out on 29th April. Review: A book you don't want to miss. - This is another wonderful read from Ms Sands, with all the intrigue, twists & turns that you can expect from Ms Sands. Once I started to read this book I couldn't put it down until I'd finished the whole story, the plot for this story is a little different from the others where the lines between good & evil are blurred. So what are you waiting for, why not buy a copy & find out for yourself.

HUMOROUSLY BRILLIANT
Another Great Argeneau episode by Lynsay Sands, where we see some tense areas, not as much as previous episodes, but we have some pretty humorous areas with the way immortal 'PirateVampire' Vasco speaks to student holidaymaker Jess whose gone to Punta Cana for her cousin's wedding & went on to the ship for a 'feeding' expedition but not in the way they thought but she see's & decides to get away in any which way. And she comes across or well Raffaele & his cousins Santo & Zanipolo comes across her & becomes her saviours from the 'Vampires' all she knows is that she wants Raffaele & He wants her. We see that Jess doesn't just have 1 potential Lifemate wanting her, she has 2 & she knows she's attracted to these 2 strangers, which 1 of whom's a vampire. So come & see what happens when she finds out more of whom the 3 cousins are & the group from the ship. We see how & if either 1of these 2 potential lifemates & if so whom Jess decides.....๐๐๐

Absolutely amazing as always, but I loved the plot twist just wow! Such glorious characters, real life stresses and very steamy scenes what more could you want.

Okay, not as good as previous
Have enjoyed all previous books in the series, this was okay but not quite as good as previous, hope the next is back to the previous standard.
