The FileMaster Efficiency desk features a special opening in the top of the desk to store and easily access your hanging file folders. The remaining desk top area is covered with the non-skid material. The large storage area is great for office tools and accessories and also for keeping a laptop hidden out-of-sight. Additional storage compartments hold small supplies such as pens, maps, and other small items. This desk is ideal for those needing to keep mobile equipment out during the day but don't necessarily need the additional space for writing. If a writing surface is needed in addition to the FileMaster Efficiency, this item pairs well with the AutoExec WheelMate or WheelMate Extreme.

Law Enforcement Use
I mostly love this thing. I'd caution you before you buy to make sure this model fits your needs. The only reason I can't give it 5 stars is because there are a few things I am less happy with and wish were explained or pictured before purchase. Let's break this down.First I use this in a law enforcement capacity. This sits in my passenger seat and holds paperwork, warrants, odds and ends, Kleenex, a travel size hair removal tape roller, and such. I have modified mine slightly by supergluing a neodymium magnet right where the half circle has been cut out of the rubber mat. I have a small cup of paper clips that I have taped an additional magnet into the bottom, and they sit fairly securely in that spot now. If I put a clipboard on the table portion and knock the cup loose then it is hopefully saved by the files sticking out of the top of the desk, otherwise I know have some cleaning to do. And it's super important to make sure they are all cleaned up, because you know what is perfect for picking the lock on a pair of handcuffs....? I am happy with my modification, but that part of the desk could easily have included some sort of recess or receptacle. The file portion on top of the desk.....The biggest problem I have is that there is not a contained bottom to the opening. You snap in the plastic portion that sticks up. This gives you a place to hang the hanging folders, but inside the cubby, anything down there competes with space with the hanging files. Which leads to folders sticking too far up, being squashed against the back wall, or not opening wide enough when you want to stick something in them, because they are squashed closed. If you don't put hanging file folders in there, and try just sticking paperwork in there then they will slide right out the hole for the cubby and end up in your lap. I would LOVE to have a rectangle box that fits there that is completely contained on the bottom. This is probably my BIGGEST gripe with this model. The small recesses along the back edge...meh. I haven't really found much use for them. They are deep, and somewhat oddly shaped. Just as you see in the picture. If you put pens in there they disappear deep enough that you'd have to dig one out with a finger. The file portion that is along the backside is great. I really don't have any issues with that part. It holds the hanging folders nicely, and if you don't want to use hanging folders you don't have to. You can stick paperwork straight up and it will stand above about 3.5-4 inches. You don't HAVE to strap this down with your seat belt, depending on your car. I am driving a 2009 Dodge Charger, and there is about a 4 inch gap between the front of the desk and my dash. Just enough to sometimes stick a metal clipboard (resting on a duty bag I have in the floorboard). I can't get to the duty bag too easily, but it's not completely cut off either.I also have an Uncle Mike's seat organizer hanging on the passenger seat. I'm still working out the best fit. If you hang it on the seat headrest like you're supposed to, it will cover the back receptacles so I've zip tied it to the roll bar on my prisoner partition. This keeps it up and out of the way, but doesn't supply the back support it needs to stay flat backed. It's starting to taco a little bit. I'll figure it out. The cubby is nice....kinda becomes a hole for junk sometimes. Whatever you put in there that doesn't touch the bottom will likely slide right out and on your lap when you turn...but I am using a police center console, so it's much lower than your's probably will be, and therefore you may not have that problem. I like that the wood portion is sturdy. I may mount a holster to the bottom inside the cubby in case I need to grab a weapon quickly and I’m off duty or it’s just easier to get to. The rubber coating on the desk is pretty grabby. Whatever is seated on it won’t slide, but whatever is on top of that thing most certainly will end up in your lap or on the console….sometimes accidentally activating lighting, radio, PA, or other police equipment depending on your console setup.Beyond that I can’t think of much else to say about it. The desk works great, it’s a big help sometimes, but sometimes I wish it stuck out more, or slid out. That brings me to my first point, make sure it’s going to fit your needs vs. other models. I need a computer mount and a printer mounted in my vehicle now. It seems I am going to have to find a way to modify this one or but another…and they aren’t cheap.

A Perfect Fit For My truck And My Work!
I was window shopping on Amazon and I came across the AutoExec Car Desk, which is the perfect addition to making my work life easier! I read all the reviews. Some good reviews and some complaints, but this desk still held my attention. I heard some say it was hard to pull out and the others that said it rattled. I decided to contact the company and get some questions answered. The most important question would it fit my truck with a high center console? Well, the owner and their customer service dept. were quick in responding to all my questions. I sent them the car seat measurements and they gave me a thumbs up. Concerning the the desk quality, the mahogany wood finish is beautiful It looks like it came with my car; matches perfectly. As to some people saying it's to hard to pull out; mine is fine. No problem what-so-ever! Second, I have NO rattling. The seat belt keeps it snug with no movement while driving. The extra work area just makes my life easier. I like the clip addition so my papers stay where I want them. The storage for files is such easy access instead of reaching around to the backseat or the floor. The storage area underneath the slide out writing area is large enough to provide access to anything else I need to have close by. I am totally satisfied with this product, the AutoExec company service dept and Amazon for carrying their products. Some say it's a bit pricey, but I would buy it again because it's a great tool to make my work life easier and it has eye appeal. I'd be talking to a customer and their eyes drifted over to the desk. A great conversation starter. No, I am not paid by the company. I just like to be organized and this is a big help on the road. Very satisfied with my purchase.

No Good For Tesla Model 3
Despite all the fancy technical equipment in Teslas, their seats are pretty standard. Nothing weird, nothing fancy. This desk doesn't sit level (or even close to it) in the front of a Tesla Model 3. It's a no-go for me to be able to use when I drive around the state on professional business. Now, totally separate from any Tesla-specific concerns, here are some other problems with this "desk:"- This is a blown-plastic tub with a particleboard top. It's way, way overpriced for what it is. This could easily be made by Sterlite or Rubbermaid for under thirty or forty bucks.- My desk came with some holes drilled and filled with some sort of spackle. It's clear from the design that they use the same blown-plastic base and then just attach various tops-- at increasing cost. I thought this was tacky (e.g. that they charge $50+ more for a slightly larger piece of wood on the top).- They skip on both the quality and quantity of the rubber no-slip top. Why would anyone want even a single square inch of the top to be slick and allow sliding? The entire top should be coated in a no-slip traction surface, using a better quality polymer coating, and it should be level and even without creases (right now there is a slight ridge in an odd shape that doesn't make any sense).- There is no adjustability for the level. You can't really see it from the pictures, but this does not sit level on the seat (which is important if you're going to use it for a desk). Baby and child seats allow for this adjustment, and it would have bee incredibly easy to incorporate that here with little or no increase to cost.- There is no way to access the "secret compartment" unless you remove the desk fully or partially from the seat. Stupid design. The desk should be hinged and flip up to allow access to this large space. This is a big miss for me, and it's a pity because this company appears to have the market on these things cornered. Maybe that's why they are not innovating, designing, and delivering a better product.

HOW DID I GET BY WITHOUT THIS???
I work as a service electrician and just got mine Tuesday and already I dont know how I got by without it. For anyone in the service trades or work on the road it's a must have. No more loosing important papers or pens to the endless abis that is my service truck. It even survives those brutally bumpy Canadian haul truck roads up on the mines (witch was very surprising)

Grateful!
I am extremely pleased with this product. It has reduced the amount of strain in my neck and in my back and hips. I gave it a 4 star because the laptop tray is damaged. There was no visible sign of damage on the box it arrived in but the bubble wrap was clearly broken and the is a split on the edge of the tray. I have taken photos but it will not allow me to add them. I highly recommend this product and it was suggested to me to bring to the attention on my supervisor as the company I work for has been looking for such a product!

Great For Working On The Road
Have been using this product for over a year while working regularly on the road in a small ford focus. Product has allowed me to comfortably sit and work while sitting in the car over top of parking breaks or etc. A little pricey at first to get over but has been well worth the price paid over the period I have been using it.

Fits well in my 2020 KW T800.
I love how practical this thing is. Solid 4 stars for practicality. Lost a star because I can see this thing getting scratched and looking old & ugly fast. Would definitely buy again tho
