EDVOTEK SYBR Safe DNA Stain, 10,000X Concentrate, Green

After more than 35 years of using EtBr, this product finally convinced me to switch. I never thought EtBr ws al that bad and the early iterations of "safe" stains seemed little better. This one has the advantage of not entering cells. But, really, the main utility of it from my point of view is the fact that blue-light does not damage the DNA if you are cutting a gel slice or similar technique. It's sensitive. The images are clear; and clonable DNA recovery from gel purifications is easy to recover.

Check the fine print here, it says 80 microliters - not the 26 fluid oz listed in the product title. Also, the tube I ordered had fluid outside of the gasket, and there was only 65ul left in the tube. One can get SYBRsafe for less elsewhere. In the end I ended up paying 7-8x more than I should have per volume of the same concentration - 10,000x).
