Can this be powered by a car battery that charges when my cabin generator is running?

Some confusion here… yes, you can power using a car battery. The device uses a 12 volt, 3 amp power supply that takes mains voltage to produce 12 volts to run it. Car battery is already 12 volts and will provide way more than 3 amps, so just fashion an adapter (or buy one since I guarantee there is a pre made product out there) that has on one side, battery clips or a cigarette lighter plug, and connects to the proper barrel plug for this device on the other. I highly highly doubt that 14 vs 12 volts matters here, and also current regulation if not needed either since the standard for every device made these days is to use a generic power supply and apply any smart charging /precise voltage regulation within the device itself. To be extra safe, put a 3 amp fuse inline on either + or - sides, and you will now be sure the battery is not over powering the booster. No I can not make promises, but from my experience the voltage from those wall warts isn’t highly regulated to any real degree.
