A huge book of fantastic photographs of many of the legends of boxing.
I purchased this book because of the title (KNOCKOUT: THE ART OF BOXING BY Ken Regan) and thought it was a book on how to box and knock someone out; however, it turned out to be a giant book (14 by 11 1/2 312 page) filled with fantastic photographs of some of the legends of boxing and other famous people. The author is a professional photographer and had access to the many great boxers and other celebrities. This big heavy coffee table book (and it better be a strong table because this book must weigh about 20 pounds) may turn out to be a real collector's item for anyone interested in boxing photographs. The forward is written by Muhammad Ali, a commentary is written by the famous writer Norman Mailer who also used to box, the introduction is written by Liam Neeson, who also used to box in his younger days and the afterword word is written by Budd Schulberg. This wonderful book is organized into 8 photographic rounds (sections or chapters) Round 1 covers photographs of the life and times of Muhammad Ali. The second round features Joe Frazier. The third round shows photographs of George Foreman when he was young and when he was older but still fighting. The four round deals with photographs of Mike Tyson. The fifth round has photographs of Floyd Patterson, Sonny Liston, The Spinks brothers, Ken Norton, Gerry Cooney, Larry Holmes, Evander Holyfield, Riddick Bowe and Lennox Lewis. In the sixth round there are photographs of the following champions: Sugar Ray Leonard, Marvin Hagler, Roberto Duran, Tommy Hearns, Roy Jones, Oscar De La Hoya and Christy Martin. Round seven covers boxers in the Olympics, which is in my opinion the least interesting chapter. The final round features some very fascinating photographs of the various celebrities at ringside such as Sylvester Stallone, Frank Sinatra, and Dean Martin. If you are a die hard boxing fan and collector of boxing photographs, this is a book you should have in your collection. It is a fantastic book and is a real joy to read and view all the great photographs.Rating: 5 Stars. Joseph J. Truncale (Author: The Samurai Soul: An old warrior's poetic tribute)

Real Knockout, but wrong price...
This book has fantastic pictures, and is about the most memorable fighters in history.Funny, but the pictures are so realistic that it looks as if you are there, right besides the boxers.Ali, Frazier, Foreman, Holyfield, Tyson, Sugar Ray, Duran, Hagler, Paterson,Golden Boy, Liston and many others. The only drawback is that Amazon says that the regular book price is 97,50$, while the inside cover says it is 75$!Truth is the real price is 75$ not 97,50$If you liked that era you will love the book.Statistics of all the boxers stated are included.Nice and interestin writing also.Expensive but worth the price.Enjoy life!Yves
