I recommend you try it
I never write reviews about skin care products because no matter how many different ones I try (high end or affordable), I don't notice anything great worth mentioning. This toner though, I think has just simplified my routine by so much. For reference, I have acne-prone, combination skin (oily forehead and t-zone, normal to dry on rest) and have adult acne especially around that time of the month. Aside from cleansing, I've only been using this toner and one moisturizer (I switch those up depending on how my skin feels) every morning and night. On rare occasions my skin feels hydrated enough, I really only put this toner on and that's it. What I like about using this is that it doesn't do anything extraordinary nor does it cause any problems. It keeps my face looking NORMAL and controlled. Which is really all I need, and my skin just feels good. My breakouts have been very minimal aside from the ones in the chin area due to hormones every month. I have noticed my face overall looks significantly brighter and clearer- I think I recognized this difference about a couple of weeks in first trying it. I used to have a lot of redness which felt like they were permanently there and won't go away. Now it's only a bit red around the nose and chin area. For application, I don't use cotton pads; I think it's a bit unnecessary as it soaks up a lot of product. I put a tiny puddle in my palm (always with clean hands) and slap it on. The consistency is like water but I never have the problem of it running down my arm. On drier days, I put on 2-3 layers of this (pat in, let absorb, put some more on), after that my skin feels super hydrated. The smell isn't anything to praise about, but it's nothing that will keep me away from using it either. This isn't a perfume, and as a skin care product, I would be worried if it did smell like one. If you've smelled real flowers, they smell good, but there's sometimes that slight underlying scent that might be not as pleasant. To me, that's what this toner smells like. It does smell of roses, but it has that touch of realness (how do you even describe this). I don't find it terrible at all. At the price, it's really worth giving it a go if you're looking for a good, basic toner to start your skin care routine. Going in I knew nothing about this toner other than the amount of reviews it has on Amazon and one youtube video of someone praising it, and I'm VERY glad I tried it. One bottle kept me good for 5 months (I already have my backup bottle ready). I bought my first bottle of the rose petal at the beginning of May this year, and I'm now about to finish up the last few drops. As long as my skin doesn't suddenly decide to react differently to it, I think I'm going to be keeping this toner as a staple for a long, long time. Update (a couple of years later..): Just wanted to add I still love this toner. And contrary to my old review above, using the toner with a cotton pad has been a game changer. Using it by itself was great as well, but I tried using it with a cotton pad to gently wipe the face and within a couple of weeks, the texture of the skin got better on another level.

Gentle alcohol-free toner that works well for sensitive skin
This is a really nice, gentle toner that works well for my sensitive skin. I’m pretty cautious with toners because a lot of them can sting or feel overly harsh, but this one is very mild and comfortable to use. I’ve never experienced any burning or irritation from it. The formula is alcohol-free, which makes a big difference for me since alcohol-based toners tend to dry out my skin. Instead, this one feels lightly hydrating and refreshing when applied after cleansing. The scent is also very pleasant. It has a soft rose fragrance that smells light and fresh rather than overwhelming. If you like floral skincare products, this one strikes a nice balance without feeling too perfumed. In my routine, I use this after cleansing and before serums and moisturizer. It helps prep the skin so the rest of my skincare layers absorb nicely. I also feel like it gives my skin a slightly brighter and more refreshed look after using it consistently. Overall, this is a great everyday toner for sensitive skin. It’s gentle, hydrating, alcohol-free, and works well as part of a layered skincare routine.

Helps soothe and soften sensitive skin
When I first started using this product, it was extremely effective at managing my breakouts. It made a difference that even my family had noticed. Notably, my problem area (my chin, mouth) gets swarmed with painful cystic acne at least once a month, around my cycle. Last year I also went through finals and some bad family drama around the holidays, but this toner kept my skin fresh. Unfortunately with my most recent cycle I've had a resurgence of stubborn cystic acne, but this toner still deserves these 5 stars because it is an excellent moisturizer and a wonderful product. Besides, it's not actually marketed as an acne product! That is just a nice bonus for some of us. It has definitely had a very soothing effect on my skin and has helped to manage some of the crustiness and peeling that can come with bad acne. The bonus is that this product seems very natural. I haven't inspected the ingredient list or anything, but I don't think it contains any of the drying acids or harsh chemicals that are usually found in other skin products. Especially ones for acne. It's alcohol-free!!! So it smells great, doesn't burn the nose or eyes with harsh fumes, and I feel fine to use it several times a day without drying out my face. It does quite the opposite, in fact, by revitalizing the skin. It dries quickly and leaves a light, clean feeling on the skin, not to mention a pleasant rose fragrance that doesn't linger too long. My face is a lot softer and overall healthier than it has ever been. This product has replaced my regular moisturizer that goes on before applying makeup. I just pour some toner on a cotton square and wipe it over my skin after washing my face (with a makeup wipe or Neogen cleansing stick). The skin flakes I used to see after putting on foundation are no longer an issue. I rarely need to exfoliate. I will use this toner in the morning, before bed, and sometimes in the middle of the day when my skin feels oily or needs a pick-me-up. This toner is one of the most gratifying skincare products I've ever used! Highly recommend for yourself or as a gift for someone who struggles with dry skin. This is a must-have product for anyone who loves skincare products.

Big change in pore size and wrinkles
I started using Thayer unscented and loved it. I had rose water so I added it to it. Well duh, I can just buy it with rose in it. I don't find the fragrance to be too strong at all but then I don't have a real sensitive nose like some people do. The fragrance is from rose water and fades shortly after it dries anyway. Natural Witch Hazel, Aloe and Rose water all bring wonderful properties to your skin. What I noticed: Pour size: I defiantly have seen my pours get much smaller! Especially on my nose. Big wow for this one. Eczema: I tend to get eczema on my face which really sucks. This takes it right away!! Thank you ,thank you. For those of you that suffer with eczema my number one recommendation is to stop eating grain!! That makes a HUGE difference. That is the only way I can get rid of it. When I cheat my body can handle it once in a while but no on a regular base. When I start eating grain it comes back. And then Thank goodness for Witch Hazel it takes it away quickly. I have used steroid creams which work, but this is actually faster and all natural! Wrinkles: Yes, it does help. I feel my skin is tighter and I a youthful glow back to my skin. It really is amazing. I'm 58 and look 40. What I eat makes a difference there too but Witch Hazel is fantastic. (food, stay away from sugar!! Ages you fast.) I never bothered with an astringent. What for. I have no idea what started me on it but I will never stop. Cleans: I know it moisturizes. I am not sure how but it does. I still feel squeaky clean, I put the witch hazel on t though out the day. I leave it on the bathroom counter next to cotton balls and whenever I am there I put some more on. Love it. Acne: I don't and never have had a problem with acne but Every once in a while one will sneak up, usually back to when I am not eating right. It does clear it up quickly when I use the witch hazel. I would say in two days. For those who say it brings on acne my only guess to that is it might be clearing out your skin big time and...what are you eating?? Can't blame it all on the witch hazel. Good stuff. I noticed there is lavender and many other choices. A real keeper as far as I am concerned!!

50/50
So for me personally, this product half worked and half didn't, based off of other customer claims anyways. The main claims I heard were that it *evened skin tone, *helped clear blemishes, *tightens pores and *softens skin. It also noted that it was non alcoholic and had aloe in it. The major thing I noticed was it definitely made my skin softer and the dryness was virtually gone. Like no joke, not even 2 days after using it did I notice a difference. And I have extremely dry skin, especially on my face, and this did wonders for that. It also did help with blemishes. Although it didn't help as much as I would have liked it too, it's not an acne wash substitute, so I honestly can't complain. Now what it didn't do was tighten my pores. I have faily large pores in the high cheek bone areas beneath my eyes. And honestly I've noticed no difference. I've been consistent with my usage and I was hoping I'd see SOMETHING but it just didn't happen. It also didn't really do anything regarding the overall tone of my skin. And even though it is called a toner and people may consider that a fail, it still helped enough with the dry skin on my face and it did help clear up my skin. So for me it 50/50 worked. It does smell pretty nice and it does help your skin wake up and feel fresh, and after every time I use it my face feels super clean. So for me, personally, there was enough positive than negative in terms of buying this product again. One thing I will note, I don't know if it has to do with my dry skin, but even though it's alcohol free and has aloe, there is a slight sting. It is nothing unbearable and it's not strong like a burning sensation, just a slight sting for a few seconds. Again every person is different, but overall I would buy this again and I would recommend it.

SUPER OILY Skin Review
Let's start with my skin type. As a fellow online shopper, I think it's important to know the reviewers skin type so I can compare with my own. SUPER OILY. How oily? Let's put it this way. On average I use 4-6 oil blotting papers each time to remove shine. I do this 2-3 times a day to not look like butter. My supposedly long lasting 15-h foundation only lasts 2 hours before melting and I don't use eyeliner (even though I would love to!) because my eye lids melt everything; pencil, gel, powder, liquid. Anything. That is how oily I am. To add to my problems, I also have mild acne. I treat this with benzoid peroxide face wash, retinoid cream, and benzoid peroxide gel daily. I am simply adding the toner to my routine so any results or side effects are achieved with a combination of products. I will report as accurately as possible. Now back to the product. Day 1: I received the package very quickly and at first I was a little apprehensive because the liquid looked like baby oil inside the bottle. Later at night, I finally opened it and I was wrong. The toner is very light, non-greasy, and smelled like roses. The smell was a bit strong when I first poured it on a cotton pad, but about 5 minutes after application, 95% of the smell went away. So for those who are worried about the scent, it goes away quickly! After applying the toner on my face I felt very clean and normal. I say normal meaning I didn't fee dry and I didn't feel oily either. It was great. I followed quickly with my usual moisturizer and voila. Done. Day 2: I woke up and my face was not as oily as before, pre-toner. Upon washing my face, it felt softer and smoother. Definite plus. After using the toner only once, I am already feeling a difference. Overall, my skin feels cleaner and less heavy with oil. If your goal is to find something to clean and sooth, this toner does a pretty good job. As for pore sizes or acne, I will have to update after I've used the products for a few weeks. I'm going to add the toner to my routine twice a day as recommended and will update soon! One Month Later: I have lowered my use to once a day, at night, to clear away any excess dirt or makeup that was overlooked by the makeup remover + face wash. Aside from what I mentioned earlier, I did not notice any additional benefit of this toner. It definitely does help keep my pores cleaner but after a while, I still need to use clay masks or nose strips to remove the blackheads. Overall, I would say that using this toner wouldn't hurt. I observed no negative reactions and it's quite affordable as a toner for only $10! Recommendations: For anyone looking for a general toner that covers all your bases, I would recommend this one due to its low costs and large quantity. (After one month, I barely used half the bottle.) For anyone looking to target anything specific like oiliness, acne, pores, etc, I would recommend to possibly keep shopping. Let me be clear that this toner is not bad, in fact, it's a lot better than other toners I've tried because it didn't dry out my skin, but it also did not fulfill the hopes that I had when trying it. If you have relatively good skin, go for it. This one is both good for your wallet and skin.

Absolute "Holy Grail" toner! I'll never stop using this or switch away!
Thayers, never stop! This is one of my favorite products to use. I've tried both their alcohol and alcohol-free versions, and I much prefer the alcohol-free variety. They make lots of scents, but the rose is especially nice! I have very sensitive, pale, oily skin that is ultra prone to breakouts. I have a list of skin-angering ingredients, and it tops out at over 25, including oils and additives in products. Witch hazel is one of the good ones! I've tried other brands of witch hazel, but nothing beats Thayer's. In the morning, I wash my face with oil as part of the oil-cleanse method. For now, I wipe off the excess oil with a washcloth. This isn't the best method, as you shouldn't scrub hard to avoid damaging skin but that doesn't always get up all the product. The best thing to do is wash afterwards with a cleanser, but that broke me out (surprise!) so my best option is to wipe off then cleanse with this. I love it! Even after my oil cleanse, this still cleans my face. I don't feel like it leaves a residue or makes my skin feel excessively dry; it just makes it feel and look glowy+clean. There have been times I've strayed away because I didn't feel like this was doing anything for me. Boy, that's a mistake! I will go away from this and wonder why my skin hasn't been looking good and then I remember: I took away the Thayer's! This is one of my favorite staple products and I will always use it! After cleansing your face (with whatever you choose), squirt some on a cotton round or square (cotton balls leave too much fluff on my face), and go over every inch of skin! I'm always so surprised by how clean and amazing my skin feels afterwards Thayer's did redesign the packaging, but it's SO much better. The old packaging was cute, but I love the vintage vibe this gives! It also isn't as leaky, and the amount of product you dispense at a time is way easier to control. Never stop making this product! I'd marry it if I could!

Really good toner for normal to dry skin!
Almost every toner I bought it had a stinging sensation on my skin, my skin is kind of sensitive and turns red easily whenever toner was applied but this one really does really well on my skin and doesn’t leave my skin too dry. It has smell to it but it isn’t strong at all! Very pleasing smell! The delivery was quick and the packaging was really good! Would definitely buy another one after this gets over but I don’t think any time soon as it really is a big bottle!
