Bad Brains

I've had this album in several of its versions... There is not a bad song on it. The wax is flat, sounds good, little surface noise, the color is not really yellow with black smoke looks kinda like yellowish slightly greenish with black smoke, and I am happy with it.

This is a great album and I feel really lucky to have it. The original was released on cassette only and has become very rare, so until they did the reissue, you would be lucky to own one. If you are looking for audiophile quality, keep looking. This picture disc version has a good amount of noise, much like cassette tapes constant hiss in the background. But the songs and ferocity at which they are played make up for it, easily. I love all types of music, but I don't think punk is meant to be "clean". Sometimes dirty is what you need. Crank it up and enjoy what the mad scientists of Bad Brains have made and if you EVER have a chance to see them live, you need to see them. Saw them at Deluna Fest 2012 and will never forget them.

A lot of musicians that I like and respect often refer to this album, so I thought that I would give it a whirl. You can hear how this album influenced a large number of bands.

I llke almost all the songs on the album. the ones I like have good guitar work and drum work. I'm just not sensing a lot of variety in the music. It's also difficult to understand the lyrics over the guitars. It's really screaming. One song that I did not particularly care for was "Jah Calling". It's an instrumental that really didn't do anything for me. Most songs here are very short 2:30 or less. One exception though is "Leaving Babylon", clocking in at 4:10, this was another slow, quiet song.They went back to their typical fast and hard music on "Fearless Vampire Killers" and on "I" and Big Take Over". I love the opening guitar work on "Big Take Over' good song too. I love the way the drums start off the song on "Right Brigade" "ILuv I Jah" is over 6 minutes long and really not very good, verys oft and slow. I'm not really sure what to say about he bonus track it's 2 minutes long and a very strange song. Overall Bad Brains is a decent albumwith only 3 songs that I did not like. I think the album is worth buying.

Got this as a gift for my boyfriend. He loved it. The music is great and hardcore by one of the firs black hardcore bands. The sound is nice and crisp and their songs on the first album are epic. I wonder why we ever stopped using vinyl? Anyways, I'd recommend this for hardcore enthusiast. If you're looking for something different, a unique band, good old vinyl on your turn table, then this is for you.

On first listen, it's loud, fast, and might seem repetitive. On subsequent listens, the melodies and musicianship become apparent and then you'll be hooked. The guitarist absolutely shreds and the drumming is inhuman. I love HR's voice. I am not even a big hardcore punk fan but this album is clearly ahead of the rest of the pack. Recommended for those who don't already have it!

come al solito le descrizioni di Amazon sono approssimative puntate solamente a invogliare il cliente all'acquisto...Mi soffermo solo nel dire che non vedo dove sia questa edizione limitata, il disco non presenta nessuna caratteristica riguardante la sudetta caratteristica, e come al solito è la seconda volta che ci casco, prima con il disco dei Radio Moscow - Brain cycles e adesso con loro...quindi occhi aperti...grazie Amazon
