Using Hiking Poles Tips: 1. Your pole should be about 3 inches shorter than your armpit. That is a good general length that will work for most uphill, downhill, and flat terrain and keep you from adjusting the lengths during hikes. 2. When you hold your poles, use the wrist straps. Put your hand through the strap and then make a U or O with your thumb and fingers around the grip section. You should not need to tightly grip the pole but instead use your wrist to put a load on the pole.Where you are holding the pole, it should swing freely sort of like an extra joint connecting the pole to your arm. 3. When hiking on fairly Level Ground, the poles are swung forward in time with the opposite foot. But, the pole tips never come ahead of the body. You just plant the tip and push down with your wrist to provide more forward power. 4. On Steep Upgrades, the poles are planted next to or slightly ahead of the same foot. Pushing down on the wrist strap lightens the load on that same leg. Your hands tend to be higher up around shoulder height when climbing. Why choosing Nycoo carbon fiber hiking sticks? 1. Extra lift when climbing steep trails 2. Extra support when descending steep trails 3. Balance - through boulder fields, crossing streams, narrow ledges, slippery mud (but watch out that you don't break it between big rocks) 4. Replacement tent pole 5. Knocking spider webs down ahead of you on the trail 6. Protection against snakes, dogs, and other bothers 7. Longer reach - things dropped in water, lifting bear bags, frisbees in trees, helping companions across streams and logs 8. Resting Aid to lean on 9. Noise-maker - tap it on rocks as you like to let wildlife know you are coming 10.Trail tool to knock branches, rocks, pine cones off to the side of the trail

Comfortable and compact
These poles pack down great, and the weight is not even noticeable. The locks for adjusting hold very strong, and have adjustable nuts for tension. I have been able to use them as tarp poles with no problems at all. They hold up without slipping, and the grips (ambidextrous) and quite nice in the hand. The tips, and guards all seem sturdy. I only have a few hours on them but they don't show any wear.

Very happy with these! 5 stars
I'll be using these hiking poles next summer on a Canadian canoe trip. Having just tried them out in my neighborhood, they will work very well. They're lighter than I expected, for starters. When collapsed, they'll easily attach on the outside of my pack. And yet, they feel very rigid and strong. Lastly, the handles, clasps, and baskets all feel well engineered and made to last.

Good poles
Easy to adjust, comfortable, sturdy, decent price at $40. I paid $60 prior to Christmas for a different set for my wife and I can't see any advantage her set has over mine. That said, I had them for about a week and I saw that Costco was carrying what looked like comparable trekking poles for $30.

Best Hiking Stick Made
This is the best made walking stick I’ve ever come across. Very solid and with metal adjustable clamps. One set covers me and my young son. I’ve had other brands with twist locks and plastic clamps. They never last. This should be the last hiking stick that I’ll ever own. The interchangeable pole tips should cover every hiking condition I’ll ever come across.

Light and strong
Went hiking today so I got chance to try it. Honestly I was surprised that those poles are so strong for this weight. It’s very light. I liked it, the only thing is that I might will not use the adapters for it.
