New Holy Grail "Foundation"!
Let me start by describing my very long journey to finding the perfect foundation. As a teenager, I had awful hormonal acne pretty much all over my face, but concentrated on my chin/cheeks. My makeup routine took me FOREVER to do as I did A LOT of color correcting on all of my acne on top of a very high coverage foundation. I had always bounced around from foundation to foundation and never found something I liked, despite trying MANY high end foundations. Even if they had the right coverage, there was always something that bothered me about it: the finish, the color wasn't exactly right, didn't last long, etc. After several years, I am so thankful that my acne finally cleared up and my face is acne free, with the exception of the occasional pimple on my chin area. My struggle now is my post-inflammatory scarring and uneven skin tone which pretty much disappear with any foundation I put on. Problem is, the "holy grail" foundations that everyone is talking about nowadays are usually very heavy/super high coverage that give me an overdone/caked on look that I'm not a fan of. I was looking for a foundation that covered my hyperpigmentation/uneven skin tone, while still looking natural. I had gotten interested in a lot of the asian beauty/skincare products that I read about on Reddit and read about cushion foundations. I found the L'Oreal Lumi Cushion Foundation that I loved (good finish - dewy/glowy, perfect coverage - not too heavy but still looked natural), but was disappointed with the price and how it ran out SO fast ($15 and lasted about 2 months compared to other foundations I had bought that lasted 3-4 months for the same price). I decided that the product I was probably looking for was a BB cream because they are known for being light-weight while still providing some coverage. I decided to do a simple "bb cream" search in Amazon, and the first product to pop up was the Maybelline BB cream, and a little further down, this MISSHA Perfect Cover BB Cream. After reading about how the Asian brands are typically WAY better quality than the American-produced counterparts (since that's where they originated from), I decided to do some research on this one. This product has many glowing reviews about what a miracle makeup product it is, with the occasional 1-star review of people who received a fake one. I then talked to my sister about it, as she has invested a lot of time and money into a lot of Asian beauty and skincare products and she told me she has actually been using this BB cream as her foundation for 3 years! I was immediately impressed as she has even worse scarring, hyperpigmentation, and uneven skin tone than I do. Yet, when she has makeup on, it completely disappears. I figured she had invested tons of money into some super high-end foundation that I wasn't willing to spend money on/wouldn't be what I wanted. I decided I didn't need much more convincing and ordered the product right away. Well, I can now say I am so happy to have found my holy grail "foundation"!! ("Foundation" being in quotes as that's not really what it is.) This product has absolutely EVERYTHING I was looking for. I am Caucasian with pretty light skin (I am typically the 2nd lightest shade in most foundations), so I ordered #21 based off my sister's color which was the lightest (#13) and she is pretty much paper white/ghost pale. Most people have been put off by the very gray/ash color this BB cream has (which eventually oxidizes into a more natural looking color.) I had read about it already and was prepared for it. I applied it with my Real Techniques blending sponge, first by applying a dot on my cheeks, forehead, and chin, and then blending out. I was IMMEDIATELY impressed by how natural this BB cream looked on my skin and how my hyperpigmentation and uneven skin tone completely disappeared. It pretty much melted into my skin. I leaned in as close as I could get to the mirror and still could not even tell I had anything on my face. This BB cream is VERY lightweight (it felt like I was wearing nothing!!) yet lasts so long! (I slept in it the first night -- ew, gross, bad, I KNOW! -- and it was still on my face the next morning!) But like I said, I would have to say my favorite thing about this foundation is the "miracle" coverage. I say miracle because it covered up my hyperpigmentation and evened out my skin tone, yet still looked completely natural (you could still see my freckles and looked like I had nothing covering them). The finish on this foundation is definitely not matte, but definitely not super "dewy" to where you look oily. My L'Oreal Lumi Cushion Foundation definitely was skirting the line between "dewy" and "oily", but this is absolutely perfect. And super BONUS: This BB Cream is SPF 42! I know I should be wearing sunscreen everyday (after all, the best way to treat hyperpigmentation is by not letting it get worse) but I have not found a sunscreen that isn't greasy or wears well under makeup. So I unfortunately skip sunscreen most days. While the amount of this BB cream I put on my face probably does not have enough SPF to perfectly protect me in the awful Texas heat I live in, I can be a little relieved that I have SOME protection! If you have made it to the end of this ridiculously long review, I hope I have convinced you to at least give it a shot. I bought it for $10 from the seller Beauty Best LLC, and I definitely received a real one. This BB Cream sells for $22 on the MISSHA website, so you really have nothing to lose by trying it! $10 is an absolute steal for this amazing BB cream. I cannot say enough great things about it!

love this -- and I'm a makeup minimalist
TLDR: It's advertised as a buildable coverage foundation, so with lighthanded application, it suits my minimalist makeup style. It goes on easily and with a little time to react with my skin, it looks like natural, healthy skin -- not makeup. Trial and error with the shade matching is inevitable. Plus it's summer and if you're spending time outdoors (like me), different shades may match at different times I've never liked makeup -- probably bc as a teenager I watched my mother do her makeup for hours every morning and swore I'd never get up early to waste that much time making myself up for anyone. Fast forward 30 years -- while I would still go completely makeup-less if I could, dark spots/age spots/acne scars have forced me to consider a light approach to makeup. Plus I've been convinced that sunscreen is a must to fend off any further aging, so my late 40s makeup journey started with the search for the perfect tinted mineral sunscreen. For people who say this is too heavy or cakey, I disagree. You can use a very light touch with this, you just need to not squish the puff down hard into the compact's cushion. I'm able to dab very lightly into the cushion, and if I get too much, I pat it off on the inside of the black flap that covers the cushion. If it looks wet on my skin, I know I've put too much on. I'm able to achieve enough coverage to even out redness and cover spots/blemishes without looking or feeling like I'm wearing heavy makeup. Since I'm oily/combination, I'll powder lightly (with either Morphe Soft Focus translucent setting powder or Hourglass Vanish pressed powder in translucent tan). If it looks too matte after the powder or if it's a really hot day, I'll spray TirTir's Mask Fit Makeup Cool Fixer (the cooling effect is so nice -- I wish Amazon sold this). Immediately after application, I think the cushion foundation looks a little "flat" (even with highlighter and contour/bronzer), but with time, it must react with my skin and it starts to look like glowy, healthy skin. For people who are taking stars off bc of color matching -- you're buying makeup online -- no monitor or phone screen is going to accurately display a makeup color. So unless you're able to try this in person, it's going to be trial and error ordering online. I've gone through 6 shades (and 2 sample packs); aside from the 1st 2 shades not matching me, the others have been because it's summer and I'm getting darker as I spend more time outside. I have medium to tan skin with warm undertones -- this is the order of the shades I've tried and when I tried them: 27N Camel (mid-May): too yellow/olive for me. Also seemed to oxidize orange-ish on me 25N Mocha (late May): less yellow/olive than 27N Camel, but also too light on me 9-shade original sample pack (early June): sampled 24N Latte and 29N Natural Beige from the packets next to 25N Mocha from the compact. Both 24N and 29N seemed like potential matches. 25N was still too light. Instead of smearing on wet, I tried to press the sample makeup into my skin to mimic if I was using the puff and cushion compact; I'm convinced that the samples are okay to test colors, but don't represent the colors exactly as they come out of the cushion compact 27C Cool Beige (early June): TirTir released new shades so I wanted to see how this compared to 27N. 27C isn't really "cool"; it’s more peach-y and not as yellow/olive as 27N. It was a good match when I tried it. But this shade felt more drying than the previous cushions. I was coming off a week of antibiotics so maybe the meds dried me out, or maybe the newer shades are a different formulation? 24N Latte/29N Natural Beige (2nd week of June): got the compacts of these. Both were decent matches but I could see that 24N would be too light as the summer went on; 24N still seemed darker on me than 25N Mocha. 29N became my go-to shade for the next few weeks 6-shade medium sample pack (late June): ordered this to try the darkest shades in the pack, 30N Rich Honey and 31N French Beige. 31N was too dark for me and 30N was just a hair darker than my skin at that time 30N Rich Honey (mid-July): ordered 30N during the Prime day sale and it's been my go-to shade since then (it's now early August) I totally expect that as we go into fall, I'll revisit the lighter shades as my summer tan fades. I was initially drawn to these red cushion foundations because they were supposedly SPF 40 when there were only 3 shades, and unlike most tinted sunscreens, I wouldn't have to get it all over my hands to apply. However, the US packaging doesn't mention SPF, so I prep as if these have no SPF. I prep with TirTir's Milk Skin Toner Light (I chose the Light for my oily/combination skin -- love what this has done for my skin). Then a vitamin C serum (not TirTir), Baebody eye gel, then Baebody eye cream. Next, If I'm not going outdoors at all, I'll use Drmtlgy's Water Creme moisturizer, then apply the cushion foundation. If I'll be outside for only a short amount of time, I'll use LiveTinted Huegard 3-in-1 SPF 30, then the cushion foundation. If I'll be outdoors for an extended amount of time, I'll apply the cushion foundation after the Water Creme moisturizer and TirTir's Mask Fit (Blue) Cool Sun Cushion SPF 50+ -- I wish Amazon sold this. It's one shade and does start off too light on me, but I can pat it in and it leaves just a minimal lighter cast on me. I love that it's sun protection that I can apply with a puff and not my bare hands. I've never had any issues with the red cushion foundation pilling over any of these different products. With trial and error for shade matching and to get your desired amount of coverage, this TirTir red cushion foundation is an amazing product. 100% recommend the sample packs (if they're available) or the mini compacts to test shades, and also recommend TirTir's Milk Skin Toner Light, Mask Fit Makeup Cool Fixer, and Mask Fit Cool Sun Cushion (Amazon please please please start carrying these 2 Cool items!)

MUCH Better Than Tarte
I've been wanting a new BB cream for a while, since I've been using Tarte and haven't liked the smell, coverage, how easy it comes off during the day, and causes me breakouts. I've been looking into a ton of different ones and just haven't found one that was impressive. I decided to try this one and see how it works. When I put it on my hand to get ready to apply, I was worried it was too dark, but once I applied it it matched incredibly well - better than I'm used to. It smelled great and felt like lotion on my face, not like cakey makeup. It stayed on extremely well throughout the day until I took it off. Normally after taking off makeup and doing a deep cleanse, my face still feels gross; however after washing this off my face felt clean and normal. Actually, it felt like when I'm makeup free and do an intense moisturizing lotion in the morning then again in the evening. I was pleasantly surprised at how moisturizing it ended up being. I waited until the next day to consider writing the review, since I ALWAYS breakout horribly and feel like I'm still wearing makeup after wearing makeup or my old BB cream. I woke up this morning and didn't have any new zits and my face doesn't feel gross. After all this, I definitely feel like this is worth the price and will definitely get more!

Not holy grail but close!
I find the shade 21 to be a really good match for my fair light skin tone. I have cool undertones and though this has a “grey” cast when you pump it out, it blends in well and just looks perfect. If you’re cool toned and have struggled to find a shade match that isn’t too pinky/peachy or too yellow/orange, this might be worth trying! Also, if foundations tend to oxidize on your skin, this could solve that problem. This is a creamy, moisturizing product with medium coverage. I have dry skin and on me, it has a natural satin finish. (If you don’t have dry skin, it probably will have a dewy finish.) I find it applies easily with a brush or sponge, blends seamlessly, feels lightweight on my skin, and looks really nice. I use this pretty often as my everyday “work makeup” coverage product. I deducted one star because I have two issues with this: first it is strongly fragranced. I don’t have issues with it breaking me out but I prefer my makeup and skincare to be fragrance free. And second, it doesn’t have the longest wear time. Some days it just seems to fade away throughout the day and my hyperpigmentation spots are peeking through. I will say that I find it to fade gracefully and evenly, so it doesn’t ever look patchy or wear away unevenly. If it’s going to fade, I’d much prefer that to a product that just ends up looking like a bad, blotchy makeup application.

I was skeptical but now I won't use any other product
I have used this bb cream for several weeks now and I have not found a single thing I don't love about it. I have tried s few other Korean foundations or bb creams and was never happy with them This product though is fantastic. It is buildable for days I want more coverage, but a light layer most days looks and works great. It dries down and isn't greasy or filmy and stays looking flawless all day. I only wear this with a cream blush, no setting powder or spray and it doesn't crease or wear off. The color appeared a bit dark at first but it seems to have a slight color match technology built in or something because the shade settles to match perfectly after a minute or two. I highly recommend.

Excellent coverage with a natural finish
This BB cream gives really nice coverage while still looking natural on the skin. It blends smoothly, evens out skin tone well, and feels lightweight compared to heavier foundations. I also like that it leaves the skin looking hydrated and healthy instead of dry or cakey. A little product goes a long way, so the tube lasts quite a while. Great everyday option for quick makeup with good coverage and a comfortable feel

Love it!! Great for sensitive skin!
My skin is very sensitive and very prone to itchiness, irritation, inflammation, and acne from anything touching my face. But I’m so excited about this bb cream, because it works great and provides good coverage for spots I have on my face, while maintaining the “no makeup” makeup look! I don’t believe it’s full coverage but it’s pretty close so it’s amazing! It blends so smoothly, and I’m happy I ordered a color that matches my skin tone perfectly, first try! I have fair skin, cool undertones, and I’m a summer (for my clothing colors). So I ordered the lightest color (no. 13), even though I wasn’t sure I’m that pale, but Im very pleased how well it matches, and how even and smooth it is. I have zero problems with it in regards to skin irritation so far, and I’ve been applying it daily and over irritated skin. A couple things: It does have a smell. It’s light but still there. I’m not sure how to describe it.. it’s slightly chemically? Not too bad though, and I’m very sensitive to smells. On migraine days I can see this being a potential problem. It doesn’t work great for dark under eyes, not sure if it’s supposed to or not, but I thought I should mention it. I have to use a separate concealer just for my eyes, and a peach color corrector under that. The cap comes off very easily. In my makeup bag (it’s a small one I take with me places in my smaller purse and it fits snugly), if things move around, I keep finding the cap popped off or barely on, but thankfully there’s been no messes so far. My skin is a combo of dry and oily, and after wearing it for a couple hours, my nose starts getting a little too shiny, but the product itself I don’t think is oily. I think it’s moisturizing, although I still have barrier repair cream underneath. It recommends using powder on top, but I don’t do that, and I think it’s fine. The bottle looks so cute and the aesthetic is lovely and looks more expensive (in my opinion). I’m not using too much, I only apply a little, maybe two pea size amounts for my whole face, and so far it doesn’t seem to be running out anytime soon. I would guess it’d be about a month or two before I need to get more, but we’ll see.

Lightweight, great coverage, great color match
Overall I’m very impressed with this BB cream. It has more coverage than what I’m used to in a BB cream, it goes on really nicely, and the color match is near perfect for me. I bought the 23 and as others have mentioned, it does have a grayish look to it, but it blended into my skin nicely and looks just like my skin tone. I normally wear a #5 in NYX Can’t Stop Won’t Stop foundation or generally choose “light” shades in other products. #23 was perfect for me which was a big relief as I was torn between shades. The thing I like most is that it blends much better than the matte-finish products I usually use. My skin is combination, my cheeks are always dry and flakey but I get super oily as well. So I’ve always used matte foundation. But that makes my dry patches look far worse and it’s harder to blend. The BB cream blends like a dream and doesn’t accentuate flaws. I set with powder as the instructions say to. The one downside is I feel like it doesn’t stay as well as I would like. My laugh lines creased quite a bit, and after a few hours it tends to slide a bit. But it’s manageable. The cream is lightweight and feels good on my skin. It has scent to it which might bother some people. It’s not unpleasant but I can smell it for several minutes after application. I use a damp beauty blender and set with a blurring powder. I’ve included photos to show my skin tone and try to show the finish. Ignore my bangs in the massive roller, but I hope they help. Overall I will be using this exclusively for my foundation and am happy with the value.
