Casio Women's BG169G-4 Baby G Pink Champaign Watch

There's been some discussion/ conflicting accounts here on the color of the watch. The watch is definitely a 'weird' color, a metallic pink/beige/tan. "Champagne" is a fairly good word to summarize it. The color depends on the skin tone of whoever is wearing it. I have a darker complexion (I'm Asian) so on me, it looks light pink. I had someone with fair skin try it on, and they said it's a shiny beige. If you are really curious to see how this watch would look on you, I recommend going to a retail store nearby and trying one on.Owning this watch I am noticing what this watch does well and what it doesn't.Good:- Can handle anything. I can swim (beach/pool), do dishes, clean my fish tank, jog, play with my 2 rambunctious dogs, all while wearing this watch.- World Clock - I have relatives and coworkers in multiple time zones, so this is a nice quick way to check their current times.- Accurate - Genuine Japanese watchmaking technology. This watch will stay accurate for a long, long time. If the time is wrong, that's only because the battery is dying and needs to be replaced (Casio says 3 year life expectancy on batteries with "normal" use).- Backlight works great - just the right brightness.- Looks NICE. I am a woman with small wrists and small hands. This watch is the perfect size, fits like a glove, and the color goes well with my skin tone. I wear it with my casual clothes and work clothes. The rose gold in the face of the watch gives it just a hint of class and sparkle. This watch can be sporty, casual or dressy - it all depends on you.- Feels comfortable. The band is made of resin, and has a smooth texture. Feels great on my skin. I love having it on all day.Not as good:- The digital display can be hard to read when there is direct light shining down on it. I need to tilt my watch a little to read when I'm somewhere bright.- The alarm is quiet. Don't use this for your morning alarm if you're a deep sleeper.- Tiny buttons may not be ideal for people with big fingers.- The instruction manual that came with this watch is TINY, with TINY font. If you are having trouble reading the manual, there is an online version at Casio's official website.- The controls may not be the most intuitive. I definitely recommend reading the manual to learn the basics, unless you enjoy pressing buttons and rotating through menus on your own.#1 tip for keeping this Baby G happy:- Keep it clean. If you expose it to sea water, detergent, mud, dirt, etc, clean it with fresh/tap water and dry it. Your watch will thank you by continuing to sparkle and tell time.

I just received this watch today. Therefore, I cannot comment on durability or water resistance just yet. Will update in the future as I am going on a trip soon where it will be put to the test (thus the 4 stars for now). I must also state that I did not get this watch to utilize all of it's functions. I bought it primarily for telling time during the day and evening, for the date, and for casual wear (including swimming). I chose this one over the many I researched mostly because of the color. Let me say, I do not like pink at all. I'm much more into earthy colors...brown, orange, green, etc. That said, the watch arrived in a padded bag with the actual Casio cardboard box inside. It was dented so I was immediately fearful, but the watch itself was inside a metal box so no harm done at all. The watch was set but not to my time zone. Thankfully, the instruction booklet was included. I found it easy to understand and was able to set the date and time (to the second, actually) quickly and easily. As stated in many other reviews, the face is mirrored. Yes that could cause it to be difficult to read in certain lighting. However, I walked my house, inside and out, and had zero difficulty seeing the time. If the sun hits it a certain way, just move your wrist a smidge, and poof, you can see the face with no problem. The rose gold on the face is very attractive! It makes the watch rich looking (if that's possible for a "sport" watch). The band is very much a champagne, taupe, nude, beige color. (take your pick) but it's certainly NOT pink or rose gold like the face. It has a nice sort of sparkle finish to it. The band is flexible and easy to put on. It feels very comfortable on my 6" wrist. I don't feel like the face is too big although that is a personal preference I suppose. There are little dancing animals in the day block when you press the light. Not necessary, but cute. The back light is bluish, does it's job, and goes out quickly. As I said, once I wear this for my trip, I will update and comment on the durability of wearing this daily in very hot weather, sight-seeing, theme parks, and swimming. Right now, I totally recommend this watch. It seems very functional and really is unique in color.***Dec 2017 UPDATE***LOVE this watch! I wore it all Summer, including while swimming. I had no issues with it at all. The only problem I had was when it was time to "Fall Behind" for Daylight Saving Time. I misplaced the instructions and couldn't remember how to adjust the time. That, of course, was my problem...had nothing to do with the watch at all. Once I found the instructions, it was super simple to change the time. I changed my review to 5 stars. Go get you one!
