how much is the shipping weight?

Uncrated, the sink weighs around 46lbs. Crated, the sink weighs roughly 60lbs (give or take depending on packing materials used). Please keep in mind that, as of this time, free freight is included with your purchase.

Question 2

Do the legs come off for a drop in install?

Accepted Answer

If you wish to a drop in installation, you are more than welcome to remove the legs. If the bottom of the tub is not going to be placed on anything, we would recommend bracing it with some 2x4's or something similar since you'll be losing the load-bearing support of the legs and the drainboards are not designed to hold the weight of the tub.

Has anyone installed a garbage disposal under this sink?

These sinks are designed for commercial kitchens and most commercial kitchens do not have garbage disposals. That being said, the O.A. height of the sink (from bottom to backsplash) is 43". Once you account for the backsplash (9") and the depth of the tub (12"), you have ~ 22" of space between the bottom of the tub and the floor. If you were able to fit a garbage disposal and the necessary plumbing beneath it, then it could work.

The short answer is yes, properly cared for, covered, and maintained you can use this sink outdoors.

304 stainless steel (what this sink is made out of), is the foodservice industry standard. However, it is "rust and corrosion resistant". It is not "rust proof". Unfortunately, there is a common misconception that stainless steel can take anything you throw at it or subject it to without fail. Like any tool, it must be properly cared for and maintained.

If the sink is damaged, dented, scratched, or otherwise has the surface bond impeded, you run the risk of inviting imperfections which can lead to rust and imperfections.

Secondly, the galvanized legs are not stainless steel. If you wanted the same sink with stainless steel legs and bracing, you would look at our 18S-3C18X18-218.  Slightly more expensive, but you get the upgraded stainless steel legs and cross bracing.

We hope this helps and understand that it may not be the perfect answer you want, but we would much rather you have all the information you need to make an informed purchase versus spending a significant amount of money and being unsatisfied.
