7 years still holding strong
The media could not be loaded. Ive had this on my 1997 110 for 7 years , ive removed it a couple times for cleaning , stays in position, screws hold great and have not marred the blade , not as easy to open as the kwik thumb stud but the bar looks much better . Going to order a stainless bar for my 110 lt topographic , it appears ill have to order another brand but would prefer a kwik brand.

I was pleasantly surprised by how well this thumb bar ...
I was pleasantly surprised by how well this thumb bar works. It fits the spine of my Buck 110 as if it were made specifically for this knife (the brass plating matches as well). The Buck 110 hinge mechanism is quite stiff, but the set screws on the thumb bar grip tightly (even though they are tiny) and they show no signs that they will allow the bar to slip. Because the thumb bar is symmetrical, it allows your thumb and index finger to pinch together around the knife handle and use both sides of the bar at once to open the blade. It just takes a bit of experimentation to figure out how close to the hinge to mount the bar in order to balance leverage with travel distance.

and it looks like it should have come from the factory this way
This adds so much character to the quality of a knife. I have it on a custom carbon 112 ranger, and it looks like it should have come from the factory this way. not only does it ease the opening function of the blade, but it also smoothes the closing, and it adds more weight, driving the momentum of the blade downward. it is truly ambidextrous opening also, which is a huge factor for me as I carry this knife in different pockets depending on what else I am carrying that day.

poor design
overly simplistic design. sharp edge hurts your thumb. doesn't provide the enough leverage to facilitate ease of one hand opening.

The first of the 2 screws stripped while tightening
2 attachment screws too small and weak

Use a file!
This product is great, was good but after a little filling now it's great. Would have gave it five stars but I had to do the work. Makes it pretty easy to open the 110 now.

its a good idea
I have these on all the folders that I carry. I place the bar right beside the thumbstud on the blade & it gives a more secure purchase to open the knife. you might never have to get your knife open quickly in an emergency, I never have, but being able to & knowing how is a pretty good thing. this helps me do that.

Okay, but not worth it
It does what it says it does but it not easy to open and I don't think it is worth it. Doesn't look good on the knife either. Maybe it's right for you, but not me.
