While perfectly functional, this mat clearly sat in a warehouse too long. The deep depressions left in the foam by the retaining straps appear to be permanent. There is no improvement after a couple of weeks of lying flat. Further, the color (I bought pink) is faded all along one side of the mat to an orange hue. This faded strip goes in about 4-5 inches along the entire width of a long side. I bought this pink mat because I thought my wife would appreciate the appearance. Again, it is functional, but the appearance is quite disappointing.

I am a pretty big fan of this yoga mat, mostly because of the thickness of the mat itself. It's very comfortable when doing exercises! Another thing that my wife loved when using the mat was the fact that it came with a carry handle once the mat is folded up. I'm definitely happy with the purchase!Update: So i've used this mat quite a few times now and my review honestly has not changed. I love the strap that's included with the mat as it makes cleanup and storage quite easy. The foam on the mat is quite thick, which for me as a heavier guy I enjoy a lot, but if you prefer a more to the floor experience keep that in mind. I'm six foot, and I thought the length was great, I can do poses with my body full stretched and I reach both ends of the mat, which is all I need. The mat is a little bit bigger when folded do to its thickness and length, but it really isn't that big of a deal if you have a place that you regularly store your mats. Overall I would still definitely recommend purchasing this item.

I bought this mat to use with a pilates reformer that I use. I even cut it into two halves so it would fit on the reformer. A couple months into use, it's working great. This is thicker, cushier and softer than other yoga mats. Very soft. It does have a bit of outgassing (i.e. petroleum odor) still when you're up close - but it doesn't make my spare room stink (I'd put it in the garage when not in use at first and that should go away; I'd had a garden kneeling pad like this - the softer the foam the more it is porous/outgasses). If I bought another yoga mat it'll be this one. It is a soft surface and over time might crack or break (not sure about that) on the surface more easily than other mats that have a harder glazed over surface - but that's why its so soft, too! So far I have no problems after two months use. I use it on an imitation leather/vinyl reformer surface and the other half I use on carpet - so I can't speak to movement on a wooden or linoleum floor - but I wouldn't think it should move much. I'm not sure about any of the negative 1 star reviews - what I got is not a 1 star product.

Great foam! I bought it because I've been using inexpensive yoga mats to cover the inside of my kayak cockpit. This is the first 1/2" one I've bought. It's incredible. It's not like two 1/4" mats, it's completely different. I cut out a piece of this for my kayak seat--it's more comfortable than any gel seat I've ever owned. Considering the size, the comfort level, if you're even thinking about buy it to use as padding--don't hesitate. Wheel chairs, stadium seat, garden knee pad.

I am new to yoga. So, when many recommended I have my own mat, this one was my first choice. It is thick enough to keep my knees and healing back comfortable...but, it's not so thick that it's cumbersome to unroll and use right away. The carrying straps are secure and easy to remove and put back on. The color is perfect--not too bright but different from those around me that I can find it quickly in a large class. There was no smell when I took it out of the box and it arrived in perfect condition.

I've had this for months, use it every day for HIIT exercises on a hardwood floor and it hasn't let me down yet! This product has far exceeded my expectations. Not sure it would make a good yoga mat, it does seem a bit thick, but for other exercising, especially if you'll be working out on a hard surface this is perfect.

Great mat with a LOT of cushion, it doesn't slide around like some other mats I've used, which is a GOOD thing. It's very comfortable your knees and back never fell full force of the flooring it's on no matter what moves you do while using this mat. I love the color that I got to choose, the color is consistent through out the whole mat. Once unrolled I roll it in the opposite direction to prevent the ends from curling up, it then lays flush with the floor. Very easy to roll back up after use. It comes with a nice sturdy material on the handle with elastic on each end that easily stretches over and secures the mat. I wouild highly recommend this Yoga Mat especially if you are sick of feeling the floor while in use, nice padding...Enjoy!!

This is a great squishy mat to use to pad the floor for Pilates exercise. Not that this is not a thin "grippy mat" traditionally used for yoga. This is great to layer under a grippy mat for yoga for extra padding, but it is a bit slippery for yoga. It is great for Pilates mat work (and it is the kind of mat you will usually find in a Pilates studio) because the squishiness adds an element of instability to any standing move while providing cushion for work closer to the ground. Good quality mat with a carrying strap and no smelly material. Highly recommended :-)
