Sony at its Best!!
I just got this item and it is beyond amazing. I had a Sony T100 and sold it and bought this one because of its large touch screen. The touch screen works great and it does not scratch easily. Its like my Ipod touch for functuality of the screen. Very easy to use once you get familiar where all the menus are and easy to point and shoot. Quote: "The screen Scratches easily, Poor picture Qulity, Horrible quality for Sony, Freezes, slow" These are some examples i took from other reviews on many sites and wanted to let you know that all of these are wrong. They are most likely from people who are bias for a certain company, design or does not like Sony. All of these things that were picked out by these people are not accurate its actually the opposite. The Screen dosent scratch easily, good picture quality, excellent feel and quality of the camera and never freezes. If you are to buy a camera for everyday use and dont want to spend 1,000 on a SLR Camera and are like me this is the perfect camera to use!! So this is a must buy for 2008!

The camera looks like a floor model
I would have liked if the camera didn’t look used for what I paid for it! The camera didn’t come in a camera box, and it looked a little scratched up as well

I Love This Camera!
My daughter-in-law has the DSC T-300 so I thought I would get an even better camera by buying the more expensive upgrade Cybershot at a retail store, but I didn't like it! I returned it and had to pay a $60.00 re-stocking fee! That's ok, I knew then what I wanted... the T300! This is the one you should get too - the Cybershot Super Steady-Shot DSC T-300! It has all the features you could ever want! It is easy to use, it takes great pictures, it has lots of editing features...some are really fun. If you look around on line you can get a super deal! I only paid $235.00 for mine and I even got the warranty! The box was kind of bent but everything inside was perfect and it had a 14 day return. I am keeping it :) VERY HAPPY

Great camera, but remember more MPs is not equal to better pics!!!
I'm a big fan of the Sony's T series, I've already own the very first DSC-T1, the discontinued T-33 and now T-300. I sticked to Sony after the DSC-T1 because I wanted to keep using my MS Pro Duos; but soon after I realized that Sony makes cameras that are not only great for pics, but also their designs make an statement (bring this baby to a party and you should be aware because 99% of the party would like to take it to their homes). So, now that I shared my reasons for buying this camera, here comes my review, quick, simple an concise. The automatic mode is not flawless, especially in indoor night pictures, you should adjust the scenes mode so the camera really uses the flash automatically. The program mode haven't change since the T-33, basically the same options, and if you know how to use it, you get good pics. The remarkable "new" setting is the Smile Shutter, once you have configured (personally i prefer it in high sensitivity) is a really fun tool. And the face detection is Amazing. Sony has really improved himself in this issue. But as I mentioned in the title of my review, more MPs is not equal better quality. Once you start zooming the pics you can notice some rugged edges, distortion and a little bit of inaccuracy in the colors; but you would never notice that in a printed A3 pic. Once again, this is a amateur camera, and you are not paying over $1000 like in the 10 MPs pro cameras, so complaining is not that fair. Once you can get used to the touch screen controls, using it is a breeze... I might complain that ask for confirmation for almost everything, but I guess the worst OS ever aka Windows Vista has already got me used to that.... Finally a few recommendations: Buy the camera together with the LCD screen protector and the Sony LCJTHC/B Genuine Leather Jacket Case with Stylus for the DSC-T70 & DSC-T200 (Black); if you want to keep it with scratches from the very beginning. And a large MS Pro Duo 8GB and up I recommend.

Older model is good, takes only Pro Duo stick not SD cards and specific battery by Sony
This model, the T300 does have many good attributes once I had it out and about. I noticed the shaking (as described by others) but this is due to many AUTO settings being placed on the camera and the camera's brain. Once certain features are dis-engaged, then the shaking is gone and does not return. So its an overload of commands that creates this widely complained about issue. Sony should just fine tune the issue (as I have) and contact registered owners of this simple fix. If you can get this model for a good price and make sure you purchase that Pro Duo stick for capturing movies and pictures, this is really a fine (older model of the excellent series of slim compact cameras Sony has produced). Good overall camera, well made, metal body and well built. Photos are excellent and this model offers much of the more modern features. Camera from time to time starts to act up and vibrates out of control. Contacted Sony and they said they werent aware of it, (which is BS) since I read many have this issue as well as the DSC-T20 or TX20 . Well, you win some, and lose some. This was a loser after all. But the BEST of the DSC Series is the DSC-TX55 for smallest and most compact and performs very well, and the TX-7 is also a great camera.
