Loving it (A Long (but hopefully) worthwhile review)
A Bit about me to help you make an informed decision as to whether or not I know what I am talking about. My primary role in life is as an aerospace engineer. I’ve worked in this business more years than I can count! (Over 40?). I’m also an avid DIY’er. First, I’m cheap! I hate giving money to someone for something that I can do myself. Second, I really have a hard time trusting anyone else! I’ve owned 7 different houses over my life (new and old) and they’ve all come with baggage that so called pros installed “right”. Third reason is I am capable and enjoy doing things myself….it’s a satisfying feeling to completely refurbish an 800 sq foot cottage (which is where we currently live) and see it all come together and come to life! It is in fact my favorite house and this is coming from 3000 sq feet!On to DIY and mini-splits and Cooper and Hunter particularly. We own a 6-acre farm which is an old family property which has the original [100 plus year old} main house (where my father was raised) and the relatively modern cottage that had been really let go before we bought the place 6 years ago. I installed a 3-zone mini-split system in the cottage (different brand). That was my first endeavor into the mini-split world. As such I decided to do everything except the actual vacuum and firing up. Mistake! Not that the guys did a bad job firing it up, but come on, $500 bucks to spend about 90 minutes with all the work already done! But it’s been working great for about 6 years, so I am not complaining really. We also have 4 outbuildings of various shapes and sizes. Only one is NOT conditioned as it’s our potters shed. We have a chapel, a big workshop, and a storage room (all with mini splits). Again, different brands but this is where I got my feet wet installing, vacuuming down and firing up. I don’t mean to sound glib, but if you’re handy, it really is easy. I did have some trepidation on the first one I did because it’s kind of a gray area. However, from everything I have been able to find out online, as long as I don’t touch the actual refrigerant, I’m okay. (of course, this includes NOT releasing refrigerant to atmosphere) Don’t do it! First, it’s bad for the planet, second it comes with a huge fine (in the USA anyway). If you’ve made it this far, I promise it is worth it. This Cooper and Hunter system is, by far, the best of the many systems I own. Easy to install (don’t expect DIY flavored instructions though because they’re not). Personally, we did not see any of the issues others have reported about the flares. I did cut and re-flare on both zones because I didn’t want a big ugly coil hanging out behind the unit. The 25-foot install kit was a huge plus in my decision because I wasn’t exactly sure where it would all finally settle out. Obviously, I have a flare set (a decent one from Amazon). I also have the proper gauges, hoses, vacuum pump, micron gauge, nitrogen regulator (I get my nitrogen locally – no license required). The system is well made, well thought out and easy to work with. The remotes are simple (love the follow me mode) and talk about quiet. All my mini splits are quiet, it’s the nature of their makeup, but C&H really knocks it out of the park! This system went into our main house which is approximately 2600 square feet. There were two zones of traditional ducted, forced air systems and about a month ago one side died. Called out the A/C contractor that installed it and they were nice enough to quote $4000 just for a compressor! $5000 for an outdoor unit but of course they recommended a whole new system for around $10K. Nah! I knew I wanted to get mini splits into this house I just wasn’t really planning on doing it now…but that’s life. Besides having a tenant in the house, we don’t want it sitting there unconditioned! So, we took the plunge on this one and have not regretted it. Being only a 18K BTU system replacing (partly) an old 36K I wasn’t expecting it to do as well as it’s doing. Since we were in crisis mode, I only installed this 18K system on the side of the house that immediately needed it for the tenant and stuck a window unit in the other rooms just to keep them somewhat conditioned. The amazing thing is that if we open all the doors this 18K system is effectively cooling the entire area that a 36K was doing. I am most impressed by this! The tenant has said he hasn’t even needed to use the window unit at all so that’s a statement to how well this is performing. Couple this with the HOTTEST summer in recent memory in south central Georgia and we are truly amazed!I will be installing the [same] system for the flip side of the house when it’s a little cooler outside and then eventually replacing the other 36K system for the other side of the house (it’ll probably die soon anyway). A word about electricity cost. So far, we have seen about an $85 [monthly] reduction and add to that the fact that this month is hotter than last. Will need a whole season to really evaluate that part but of course we all know these things are so much more efficient anyway!Lastly but very important. The seller, Mini Splits 4 Less. I can’t give enough kudos to them. First, from order to arrival (via freight, on a pallet) took 3 days! It was about 5 days before we stripped the pallet and as we were uncrating the outdoor unit, we saw a big crunch in the box. Hoping for the best we pulled the box off but sadly there was a sizeable dent in the cabinet that also damaged the coils. Got in touch with the seller and I was so impressed with how quickly they resolved the problem. They asked for a couple of pictures which I sent right away. Within a few hours I had a new tracking number and the replacement showed up in 3 days. They also got the shipper out the same day as we called them to collect the damaged one! As I told them, it is nice (and refreshing) to see a company that really cares about customer service!Bottom line, the system, the seller, and the service all rate a 5! If you’re ready to take the plunge, go for the C&H from Mini Splits 4 less. You won’t regret it.NB – I am not paid for this review…this my real-life experience.

Might be hard to find a HVAC tech willing to install.
Blows ICE COLD. very efficient. your results may vary but cools my entire single wide trailer. ( twin 12k head 18K total BTU unit )I did 90% of the install. hung the head units. poured a slab. did the electric. ran the copper ( didnt pull the seals ) and got everything ready to be vaccum and pressure tested by the HVAC guy. took a while to find someone who would do it at a reasonable price. some people quoted 1200$ which is 50% the cost of the unit. ended up getting it installed for 200$ ( almost missed my 30 day return window before having it installed to even test if it worked ) so i suggest having a hvac guy lined up before purchase. . that being said. fired up first time. blows HOT on heat and ICE on cold =) than idles down to a low speed to keep everything perfect. 5 stars! will update review if it breaks.

Decent deal and good quality.
I installed the dual zone setup in my 2 story (yet small square footage) home. The outside unit and inside units seem to be quality made. Installation instructions left a bit to be desired but if you have a rudimentary understanding of hvac/electrical wiring you can figure it out. I found everything to be quality except for the 1/2" copper linesets. The copper was not as workable as other linesets I have dealt with. Once installation was complete the unit was tested per instructions and started up. Everything worked fine and the 2 units work perfectly to cool my house.

Works great
Put in my daughter’s house and she loves it!! She especially loves the app where she can turn them on/off, adjust temp, see the house temp, switch from heat to cool all from her phone, anywhere she happens to be. Perfect for in house pets to keep them comfy. Installs quickly by a qualified hvac installer.

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT
DO NOT buy this product! Do Not buy from Cooper & Hunter! After installation, the product DID NOT work. After paying $2100.00, I had to pay an additional $1,000.00 to have repaired and still not working. Neith Hunter&Cooper nor Amazon stood by this product. I will NEVER buy from Amazon again! If you make a large item purchase, Amazon WILL NOT back the purchase. It has been months of trying to get this resolvedincluding sending corporate at Amazon a letter to only receive an automated message! Horrible product but more importantly, a horrible experience! Amazon might back up a small purchase, they sure wont back up a large purchase! I was very disappointed in how Amazon handled my situation! The BIG Guys really dont care about the LIL Guys once you become the powerhouse business. BEWARE !

Works great
I bought this to cool 2 600 Sq foot rooms. I was a little nervous about sizing, I live in Southern AZ, so 100+ is common. The rooms I put this in are shop space so, single pane windows and plenty of air leaks. This space didn't get over 75 degrees, and it only upped my bill by about 20 a month. Easy to install, but some parts of the manual could be better. I recommend hiring a licensed tech for final connections to Maintain warranty.

We like it!!
Just arrived the other day (had a shipping issue but the seller was great about it, very honest and concerned). Fairly simple installation with some professional help, everything seems to be as it should be, I will update the review if not. Some of the photos are for other things we puchased on Amazon to help make the installation nicer and they have been reviewed as well. We did not buy the pump or manafold guages but did buy the fittings for it. Hoping this covers the needs of our wittle home that gets some pretty gnarly heat in the summer. No compensation received or expected for this review. Used the heat features in April while I had the flu and I was very, very comfortable in the nearby easy chair. Update 7/3 - still very happy, been close to a 100 degrees outside about half of the month of June and July so far, but very nice inside. Hooked system up to iPhone and turned on remotely while away. Really appreciate the turbo cooling too!
