Good. Not great.
Fender books. My first book was "Guitar History Volume 1" by Don Brosnac. Through the years I have bought every in depth, quality book I could find. Some, usually imported, costing a couple hundred dollars. This book left me underwhelmed. The description and presentation led me to believe it was focused on these papers discovered. Instead it was pretty much the same story peppered with maybe 12 documents I have never seen before. Not one was very revealing. The best part was the few pages of Freddie's "diary", which I would have traded most of the other items in this book for more of that content. There was more revelations and new content in those few images than anywhere else in the book and made it worth the $25 I paid. The posters and other items were okay. The huge Clapton Strat schematic was an odd choice. The reproduction hang tag was nice, and would likely sell on its own. The bi-fold painting was nice too. Some of the other items looked cheap. The low quality reproduction telegrams and Leo's business card..seemed like filler.Overall, if you collect the Fender books, you have to have one. If you are into this stuff, read every book, every interview, don't expect much and you will be fine.

another reason why i miss tom wheeler
book is so fun to read , entertaining and downright clever in its packaging and layout.loved it so much with the great pics and historical details that i just bought a 2nd copy to give as a gift to someone. So sad that tom passed away - he was a driving force at GP magazine in its best years , and all of his books - especially Fender related are priceless.

Great historical Fender book
I bought this Fender book from my hubby, and he absolutely loves this book. It has great details, and lots of graphic to make the book very interesting and not boring. This is a book that can be passed on generation after generation, easy to read. I have looked around and compared, and came to the conclusion that Amazon is the best place to purchase it. Quality, price, and customer service, Amazon has an elevated standard to meet customers' expectations and service excellence. I am very satisfied with the purchase.

Must-have for Fender Fanatics!
I bought this for my husband (who is a Fender fanatic). He loves it! All the little reprints (like Leo's business card) are really fun to look at. There's lots to explore, especially copies of actual documents previously unreleased. My husband is actually learning new things (which is a major accomplishment!) This is a must-have item for anyone who loves Fender history or trivia.

Excursion into the detailed Fender past
Fun book to explore the history of Fender as if you were going through Leo's office files. Lots of ephemera and downright aha! info in here. Format must have been a challenge with all the pull out stuff filed in the double-pocket pages. Just a lot of fun for those who want the ultimate in Fender historical paper archives.

I love this book
This book is a mishmash of stuff and I love it. During lockdown, I made a Strat and a Telecaster and really enjoyed comparing notes and looking at all the stuff. Leo Fender was a genius and deserved the huge payout he received from CBS when he sold out. It is a shame he was unwell. Anyway a really nice book.

A book for Fender Freaks and historians - Awesome !
If you are a Fender fan then buy this book, it is SUPERB. It has history that I haven't seen in any other books, and it has something I've never seen before. There are several "Wallets", little pockets which have in them facsimiles of correspondence, plans, posters, schematics that are excellent in their own right. The way the book is set out you can read it from start to finish OR dip in t read the areas that you are most interested in or simple need reference to. It is incredible.

A Fender must have!!
If you are in anyway a fan of fender guitars and amps, you really should buy this, it is a fantastic insight into Leo Fender and his inventions. Packed with info and articles on the way he developed the guitars and marketed them. There are a number of large envelopes which contain some really cool copies of documents and product flyers, my favourite being Leo's business card. A must for fender afficianados.

OK but not exactly bursting with new info
A lot of this info on Fender is in the Sound heard around the World book. It does have repros of various letters and notes written by Leo and others although the handwriting isn't easy to read - its ultra slanty! It says nothing I can find on things like the difficulties of obtaining magnets or on why the Precision Bass originally had 2 composite fibre saddles.

What a lovely book!
This is a lovely book, full of beautiful pics and detailed information, many from previously unpublished sources. There are "pockets" throughout the book containing posters showing archived pics. If you're a Fender guitar lover you'll love this.
