Bought 2 of them - Works great!
I read through the reviews before purchasing, and knew about the quality concerns with the alligator clips ahead of time. I ordered one for my Dad's 2001 Toyota Avalon back in really December, which was parked in his driveway in Delaware and barely used due to medical issues and having a newer vehicle available... but he wanted me to start it once in a while to keep the battery charged while he was in the hospital for an extended stay. The cold temps were depleting the battery, and this was just enough to keep it topped off on charge so that it didn't need a jump start. I liked it so much that I ordered a 2nd one for my 95 Grand Cherokee back home in Arizona, which wasn't being used at all while I was in Delaware helping my sister care for my parents and keeping up with their house. When I went to install the 2nd one on the ZJ, the battery terminal on the red top Optima battery was a bit bigger than the Avalon's regular battery and the alligator clip broke when trying to get it on the positive terminal. I knew when I was doing it that trying to get it on the larger terminal and squeezing the clip would stress the plastic and spring, but I did it anyways... and it broke in half. I tried to put it back together, but that obviously wasn't working - so I reached out to the company and explained what happened offering to purchase a new set of connectors. Their Customer Service was stellar, and in top of the immediate apology for my dilemma they sent out a replacement set of connectors which were received that same week. Amazing response time & quick shipment of the replacement negated any complaint that I had with the product - and installing the new alligator clips on the ZJ this time with a bit more delicacy and finesse so as to not over flex the spring or stress the plastic on the larger terminal. I returned back to Delaware after being gone for 5 weeks. The original unit was still with the green light, parked facing to the sun attached to the outside of the windshield - which it had direct sunlight from about 9am to 4pm daily. The old Avalon fired right up like the battery was brand new! I spent a month in Delaware, and after getting back to Arizona I tested the ZJ - also parked facing the sun with the solar charger attached to the outsiden of the windshield and getting direct sunlight from 7am to 5pm. The 5.2 liter V8 fired right up with no lag like it was still being driven daily. I'm happy with the product quality and performance, and highly recommend it for anyone who has a secondary vehicle that doesn't get a lot of use to avoid the frustration of discharge and having to jump start.

Works great!
This solar panel charger works great. My car’s alarm system is draining the battery so I bought this solar charger. I use the car once a week and it barely starts or the battery is low so this keeps it charged. The true test was the last two weeks, I was out of town and came back and it started right up. I clamp it onto the battery clamps that are on the posts and thread the wires to the charger through the hood near the windshield wipers and where the door closes. I put the panel on the dash which gets partial sun all day. I disconnect the clamps from the battery before starting and it started right up. Installing is easy. If you have a “live” cigarette lighter when the engine is off, then you can plug it into the lighter aka usb plug in.

Good product for the price
We need to store our RV for six months a year. A causality of age. So far this will keep our RV batteries topped up. Tested it and all worked fine. Seems made to withstand the weather here in Texas. Which if you don’t know is changable.

Doesn't work for 2004 Tahoe
Doesn't work on my Tahoe. Solar panel has been sitting on my dashboard in the sun for weeks. I have it plugged into the cigarette lighter--which does receive power w/o key-on. Dead battery this morning. Updating review. The 7.5Watt model did not provide enough power to keep my Tahoe charged. Which I don't fully understand as an old vehicle shouldn't have an excessive power draw at rest. I'm changing the stars for my review because of POWOXI's exceptional customer service. I received immediate attention solely because of my poor review of the product. We exchanged messages back and forth for a few days describing my issue, my results/images of the tests I ran, etc. (0.162 amps @ 17.29 Volts). POWOXI agreed that the 7.5 Watt model should have sufficed for my vehicle but suggested a higher watt model and offered me a full refund of the 7.5 watt--even even outside the 30 day amazon return policy. I just purchased a higher watt model from them.

Works great, easy to use
This device has been a game-changer. I leave my RV over the winter for months at a time. I put this on the dashboard and plug it into the cigarette lighter, I don't even have to pop the hood. The engine fires up immediately every time. It has saved me a lot of money in replaced batteries.

Exactly What My Battery Needed – Great Kit, Easy Setup
I’ve been looking for a reliable solar trickle charger for my [car/boat/RV – swap in your vehicle] that sits unused for weeks at a time, and the POWOXI 7.5W Solar Battery Maintainer has been a perfect solution. I put together a video showing the full setup if you want to see it in action. Easy Connection, No Guesswork Getting this connected took only a few minutes. The kit includes everything you need right out of the box – you get multiple connection options including a cigarette lighter adapter, alligator clips, and a hardwire SAE connector, so you can choose whatever works best for your setup. In my video you can see exactly how I connected it and routed the cable. Sun Positioning is Simple The panel is lightweight and easy to angle toward the sun. The included suction cups let you mount it to a windshield, or you can lay it on the dash. I show in the video how I positioned it for maximum sun exposure – it’s surprisingly intuitive and the panel itself is compact enough to move around without hassle. Solid Build Quality For the price, the build feels sturdy and the waterproofing gives me confidence leaving it in place on my [vehicle] even when weather rolls in. The 7.5W output is ideal for maintaining a charge rather than fast charging, which is exactly what you want for long-term storage situations – it keeps the battery topped off without risk of overcharging. What’s in the Box The accessories included are generous for the price point. As you’ll see in my video, the kit comes well-equipped so you’re not scrambling for extra adapters or hardware. Bottom Line If you have a vehicle in storage or one that doesn’t get driven regularly, this POWOXI solar maintainer is a smart, affordable way to keep your battery healthy. Highly recommend it.

Super quick and easy
Just as described. Wanted to keep the battery charged on a boat that sits in a pond. Works great. No more removing the big battery to charge it.

Great! (4 months in)
I bought the 7.5W solar trickle charger by Powoxi back in November after parking my car up for storage for the winter. The car is currently in a place where I can't get power to it, so I thought I'd give this a try. In the box is everything you need, and it's simply plug and play. The solar panel is quite compact and offers a good length cable to get to the battery/12v socket. For me it sits ontop of a container exposed to the elements. Now 4 months down the line, I checked the car battery today and is 12.3V which is impressive. I didn't expect the battery to be doing too great, or that the solar panel would last being exposed. It's been buried under snow for weeks, continuously rain on, yet clearly it's still going. The solar panel has done 100% of the work at keeping the battery topped up, at no point has the engine been on or has it been conected to a main charger. This winter had quite minimal sunlight too so I'm quite impressed everything is fine. I'm unsure wether it still works in overcast conditions since I haven't been up to see the LED inidicator on the panel on a day where the sun hasn't been out. Currently at £39.99 this is a great price for what it does. The overall quality is great and obviously it can handle Scottish winter conditions with ease. Overall I highly recommend. Connect it up and it gets to work instantly!

Brilliant Little Solar Charger – Kept My Truck Battery Topped Up for 6 Weeks!
Before heading off for a six-week trip over Christmas to visit friends and family in Australia and New Zealand, I realised I had a small problem — I’d be leaving my truck sitting idle for quite some time. Anyone who’s dealt with a flat battery after a long break knows how frustrating that can be, so I wanted a reliable way to keep the battery topped up while I was away. After some research, I decided on the Upgraded 7.5W Solar Battery Trickle Charger Maintainer – 12V Portable Waterproof Solar Panel Trickle Charging Kit. It looked like the perfect solution: simple, compact, and completely self-sustaining. A lot of online advice suggested just plugging a solar charger into the vehicle’s cigarette lighter socket, but when I checked with Ford, they advised against it — apparently, in my model, that port isn’t live when the ignition’s off. So instead, I followed their recommendation and connected the charger directly to the battery. The setup was straightforward. The kit comes with crocodile clips for easy connection and a generous cable length that easily reached from the battery to the inside of the truck. The included suction cups can be attached to either the front or back of the solar panel, so I mounted it neatly on the inside of the windscreen, where it could catch the light without being obtrusive. The cable is thin enough that the door seal closes perfectly around it, leaving a discreet and tidy setup. While I was away, I didn’t have to give it another thought. The solar trickle charger quietly did its job, keeping the battery topped up day after day. When I returned home six weeks later, I unclipped it, turned the key—and the truck started first time without so much as a flicker. No power loss, no sluggish start, no hassle. The build quality feels solid, and the performance exceeded my expectations. It’s weatherproof, easy to mount, and perfect for anyone who leaves their vehicle parked up for long periods—whether it’s a car, truck, camper, or boat. I’d just advise checking your specific vehicle setup before installing it, as not all models allow charging through the same method. Once you’ve got it right though, it’s brilliant. All in all, this solar trickle charger is one of those practical, inexpensive tools that just works. It’s saved me time, stress, and probably a few jump-starts down the line. Highly recommended for anyone who wants peace of mind while their vehicle’s sitting idle.
