Got a nail in my tire. My old strip plugs were dried out and I was going to order this a while ago so I figured it was time to try it. High-quality sturdy reamer, unlike most kits where the handle breaks this one feels like it will last the rest of my life. Unlike normal patch kits that are like 3 steps this one has many steps to follow but just watch the 1-minute video on youtube and it makes it pretty clear what you need to do. The only thing they don't mention is how easily that big mushroom head slides into the tire. I was concerned the plug was not in because it required almost no force to set. Very different from having to use your whole body to get a strip plug in and then it not staying in unless you yank it the right way. Might order more kits to keep in all my vehicles so I am never without them. Negatives: It is a self-contained kit with everything you need even a razor to trim the plug, but there are no pliers to pull out the nail. If they included pliers it would be the perfect kit with everything you need. The instructions even start off with "use the pliers to remove the nail". I can see people getting this pulling over somewhere that has air, not having pliers, and still being unable to fix the puncture.

I've only used 1 but it was for a puncture in the shoulder of a tire where the usual patching method would not work. It has only been 1 week, but my tire seems to have lost zero air in that time. The installation tools feel robust and installation of the plug was easy.

I bought this repair kit 2 years ago and have performed 2 out of 3 tire repairs successfully. The first attempt to repair a puncture in my wife's tire that was too close to the edge of the tread for a tire shop to repair. This tire was less than 3 months old and had no road hazard warranty. On my first attempt, the plug went in successfully and the stem was sticking out when I removed the tool. When I pulled the stem with the pliers to make sure it was seated, I pulled too hard and the entire plug came out. 2nd attempt was a success and lasted 2 years until last week when the tire got a slash on the inner sidewall. The 2nd successful repair was on one of my tires which also lasted until I had to replace due to normal wear. The unsuccessful attempt was on my son's tire. His tire was damaged by a flat piece of metal, not a screw or nail. This was more of a slice instead of a puncture. This kit will NOT work on slice type punctures. Overall, I'm very satisfied and have just ordered 2 more kits since mine has seemed to disappear. I'll give one to my son for Christmas...even though I suspect that's were my first kit went. LOL!

Had a small piece of wire in a tire on a Mercedes R class, this uses run-flat tires, as there is no room for a spare, thought I would try this kit, then have it along with me just in case. Kit seeps well enough made for the price point, unlike others, with the kit in hand, the instructions made perfect sense, Pulled the wire, probed and reamed the hole, installed a plug in the gun, put the tip on the probe,seemed like a good idea to use the probe to start the tip into the tire. While I could get the probe through the tread, I was unable to force the tip into the tread. Although I'm nudging 70, I'm not that small of a guy, was a diesel mechanic for years, still active, and can still throw cement bags around.. I tried with air in the tire, tried lubricants, tried to beat it through with a dead blow hammer - this was off of the car, so was able to position to my best advantage. No joy, I gave up, and took it over to Discount tire - in my area, they repair for free. Couple of things - would probably work great on a motorcycle tire. I know the run-flat tires have more structure in the sidewalls, not sure in the tread area, but when reaming the hole, I was feeling a lot of steel in the tread. Also, I reamed only to the first step on the reamer, about 3/16", could not really see reaming a small hole any further - why make a small hole bigger, just to fill it up - the plugs are only about 5/16", and are of pretty soft rubber. This may work for you, just did not for the application I purchased it for, I will return.

Good quality kit which is simple straight forward and easy to use. Repaired a nail puncture on my Harley rear tyre and it worked a treat. Would happily recommend!

Works well, fixed my tire. Just make sure not to pull on the plug when cutting the excess, this will cause it to leak and fail.
