Yes, they can go in the dryer. If your dryer gets really hot, change the heat setting to permanent press.

Would this be suitable under a baby /toddler bed as well?

I would assume you could use that under a baby bed. Same premise as the baby version.

Has anyone used these as western saddle pad liners? I'm looking for something washable to keep my expensive pad clean.

I think a blanket would've better let's it breath. The pads have water proof side could make horses sweat .

How well (or poorly) do these compare with other brands for sale? I'm trying to find the most comfortable, longest lasting pads available.

These seem to work the best, they are used every day to protect furniture from dogs... Use half then take off after 5 days to wash while put the others on... They go on furniture with a sheet over top of them...They are comfortable when sitting on the furniture also..... Hold up great after as many washings as mine have gone ..............
