I own a VAV dryer at home, and bought this one to travel abroad since it is dual voltage. I have very thick hair, and I am loyal to the VAV brand as it is the only lightweight dryer I have ever owned which really gets all my hair dry in a reasonable amount of time. This dryer has a high and a low setting, and the high setting did not work out for me at all in the 220 volt countries. It would come on extremely fast and loud, then within a few seconds would start to slow down and emit a burning smell. I turned it off quick before the entire hair dryer had a chance to die. The low setting worked perfectly, and is not what one would typically think of as a "low" setting on a dryer. It was quite powerful, and dried my hair almost as quickly as the high setting on my home VAV dryer. This is easy to pack as it folds, and lightweight. I was happy with it as a travel hair dryer in spite of the fact that the high setting was not accessible. Completely content with it for the price.

I used this for a week in Mexico (where it’s extremely humid) and tested at home (not humid) and it really works well.I have deceivingly thick, wavy/curly, highlighted hair and only a powerful hair dryer with a concentrator nozzle will do the trick to straighten. I can’t use hotel dryers because they aren’t powerful enough, nor do ever they have nozzles, so I’ve been on the hunt for a high wattage travel dryer for years.This one is the best one I’ve found so far. It’s lightweight, the nozzle stays on (!!!) and my hair gets as straight as it does with my regular dryer. It doesn’t feel as strong as 1875W but it did get dry pretty fast considerably.Shocked at how great this is for such a nice price. I used to have a BabyLiss travel dryer that I paid more for, but it took at least twice the time as this one and I was always frustrated with it. Glad that it finally broke so I could discover this one.

I just got it today and tested it out on how powerful the air is. The air flow is strong on high setting and it’s a little weak on low setting. It might take a while to dry a long thick hair when traveling abroad but will do the job for sure. But it seems like I got a used hair dryer. I just took it out the box and it’s dirty already. Frustrating!!!

The VAV 1875w Negative Ion Medium Size Foldable Travel Blow dryer is highly recommended. This is an excellent travel blow dryer. This blow dryer dries my hair faster than my high dollar hair dryer that I have been using. I will be ordering another one to replace the one I use at home. It dries my hair quickly and leaves it shiny and vibrant. It is a little on the heavy side for a travel hair dryer but it is well worth it.The only thing I would change about this hair dryer as a travel hairdryer is having a cord that is retractable. However, it does come with a velcro strip that works nicely to keep the cord tied.

This hair dryer dried my hair quickly and put a shine to it. I do have fine thin hair but it dried my hair more quickly than my old one.I gave it 4 stars because it is a little bigger than I wanted for travel purposes. But I love it so I will find a way to pack it!
