AIR802® manufactures high precision and performance connectors. Connector selection is extremely important to insure proper operation and reliability. In choosing connectors, it is important to match one to the type of cable being used, the impedance (50 versus 75 ohms), the frequency support, insertion loss, voltage rating and environmental specifications. This connector is RP-TNC plug male for RG8 and 400-Series type cables. Connectors can be a bit confusing regarding the gender. The RP-TNC plug is a male connector. It has threads inside and the pin does not protrude from inside the connector. This causes confusion for many not familiar with various connector types leading them to believe that this is the female, however it is the male. We generally prefer the term, plug, in order to avoid this confusion. This causes confusion for many not familiar with various connector types leading them to believe that this is the male, however it is without doubt the female.
