I’m taking a few minutes to write a review based on reaction from some of the other reviews I saw posted when I was shopping for a chair mat. I wanted to help out people that may be stressing out from some saying “looks nice but slides all over”. It doesn’t, read below to help you decide. I have been working from my home office for the last few months. So I needed a mat to put down on my hardwood floors to protect them from wear from my office chair. I wanted a clear mat so it doesn’t detract from the hard wood flooring. I also wanted one with a “lip” to go under the desk for my feet as well as a surface area for the chair. I found this 47”x36” one in the SHAREWIN Chair Mats for hard wood floors. Price was great at $26.99 and perfect footprint for looks and performance in a home office. So what’s the problem? Well, I kept seeing mixed reviews...some satisfied but some saying it slips and moves around too much. Oh no..who wants a chair mat that slips and moves around. Argh! Well, I decided to take a chance. I mean, at that price, it’s not a huge deal if it doesn’t work out. So, I place the order, I get the mat and now it’s time to put it to the test. First I unroll the mat and lay it down to straighten out and “uncurl”. They are shipped rolled up and wrapped, so they have to settle and lay down (time varies but usually by morning at room temperature they are flat). I put books on the corners of mine to help it flatten out. As I was doing that I did notice it seemed to slide around a bit. But, I gave it overnight to settle. The next day I pick up the books and it’s nice and flat. Now it’s on to the “slipping” test. I place it in front of my desk and *important* put the SLICK clear side down and the slightly textured/frosted side up. I put my chair on the mat. I rolled my chair around, pushed on the mat with my feet...and nothing, it stayed in place and worked perfectly fine...all day. Success! My search was over and I paid less than I had planned. Another great product found on Amazon. I’ve been using it for a few weeks now and still no problems. If you pick up the sides and pull up it will lose contact with the floor and slide wherever you move it. Then simply place it back down flat on the floor and it stays in place. Don’t worry about people saying it slides all over. If it’s sliding on them then maybe it’s a polish or coating or something on their floor (or they have the wrong side down). This mat itself has no problems, it grips the floor and works well. So hopefully that helps out anyone on the fence like I was about it. Great price, great product, no worries.

When it first comes out of the box the ends do curl due to it being rolled up when shipped, however, it is very easy to get it to lay flat. Lay some heavy books or boxes on the ends that curl and leave it there for a few days. I’ve also heard putting it in a hot bath will get the curling to stop but I didn’t test that. I have no had any issues with tearing or breaking and I’ve had it for about two months. I use it on hardwood floors, my only “complaint” is that it does shift slightly but that’s to be expected and it doesn’t shift much; plus it’s an easy fix.

This SHAREWIN office chair mat is a great and affordable solution for anyone looking to protect their hardwood floors. It does exactly what it's supposed to do—it protects my floor from scuffs and scratches, and it's super easy to clean. The mat works great for rolling my chair around, and I'm very happy with its performance overall. The only downside I've found is that it does slide around on my floor quite a bit. I find myself having to reposition it fairly often throughout the day. Despite that one small issue, for the price, this is a fantastic product and I would highly recommend it as an effective floor protector.

Serves its purpose. I like that it is thin as I use it for my laminate floors. I have a small desk and it fits perfectly for the space I have.

Having bought many chair mats in my life (longtime remote worker), I don't have a long list of asks - low-to-no smell from plastics, mats that unroll and stay flat, and value for the cost. This mat has no smell, which is great. At $23.99 when I purchased, it's a reasonable price - but true to what they say, you get what you pay for. One of the reasons I grabbed this was reviews - only to be disappointed to find that one of the reviews what read as if it was an individual who took extra special care to make sure their mat unwound just right, really was essentially just copying and pasting the instructions. Nonetheless, I followed these directions to a T - letting the mat come to room temp (warming up), unrolling it, put it smooth side down, letting it sit for at least a day (I actually let it sit for 3 days - with books on the corners), and giving it all the time I could to come to its final, flat shape. It never happened. This explains why the seller includes 4 clear adhesive disks ("free gift!") to adhere the mat to the floor. It's been stuck (literally) to my floor for a week and a half now - and the wide end is fighting for its curly life, curling under as much as the edge as it can. It's incredibly annoying, and there's been no amount of repositioning, warmth, weighing down with heavy objects, or even rolling over it with my chair, that has changed anything. Definitely would not buy this again.

Our floor was getting scraped by the desk chair. This floor mat looks great, stays in place. It seems to be crack resistant and a good value for the money. It is light weight and has no smell. I would recommend to anyone who is having the floor scratches problem.

This mat is made of soft playable plastic which comes tightly rolled in a narrow box. Chairs do not roll well on it at all, the plastic is way too soft and the chair wheels sink in making it difficult and strenuous to move your chair. If you’re looking for the hard solid plastic chair mats, this is definitely NOT it. Very disappointing product.

The mat works well. It took a little time to get it straight, but I set it under my desk and chair. One edge is still up a little, but not enough to bother me.

I'm writing this the day after receiving the mat. I was impatient to put it on my floor and it was a cold day, so I put it on top of a radiator to warm up and soften to make unrolling easier. I had read several reviews and was bit worried about how well this would perform. Being impatient I took it off the radiator before it was fully warmed up (I could feel it was still cold at the middle of the roll). As expected it unrolled easily where warmed up and less easily where still cold. All that said, after laying it smooth side down, it is performing perfectly. The mat itself is stable on the floor surface (varnished wood boards) and provides a great surface for the wheeled office chair on top. I feel like I am rolling around on cream. I weighted the curling back edge (the previously colder inside of the roll) with books overnight and now there is just a slight hump - as there is at the front edge too. I am pretty confident that these will eventually relax and the whole thing will be flat. I had wondered if the size would be OK and it is – I can roll my chair back to stand up and it does not come off the back edge. I recommend the mat with the front lip that goes under the desk as this is needed for the front wheels of your chair when you are working close to the desk. My chair is making no indents on the plastic because it is directly on top of a wood floor with nothing in between. Highly recommended – and a good buy at the price

Ordered the product and it arrived promptly. Accurate website description/measurements. I purchased the one for hardwood floors (smooth plastic) It is not too large but just enough to roll the chair under the desk and a few feet back. I bought an Ikea chair and the castors were leaving marks on the hardwood. Wish I found this product before this happened. There are no rubber/silicone type replacement castors that seem to fit Ikea brand chairs so this mat is my solution. Satisfied with the mat, easy to vacuum and wipe clean. It comes with stickers you can put on the corners but I find it lays flat and they have not been necessary.

I received the product after some wait time. But, I really appreciate the clear finish to the product. It does not have too much frosting on the surface which makes it appear to have a near transparent finish. I use it at my work desk with an office chair, perfect for my home office setup. Easy to clean and maintain. However its good if you don't move too much on the office chair, as the size is bit small. As I stand up and roll my chair back one of the back wheel slides of the mat onto the floor. Not a huge deal, since the thickness of the mat is just about right and hence, its easy to get it back onto the mat without much effort.
