Great Mat for Hardwood Floor - Concerned about Slipping? *READ THIS*
I’m taking a few minutes to write a review based on reaction from some of the other reviews I saw posted when I was shopping for a chair mat.I wanted to help out people that may be stressing out from some saying “looks nice but slides all over”. It doesn’t, read below to help you decide.I have been working from my home office for the last few months. So I needed a mat to put down on my hardwood floors to protect them from wear from my office chair.I wanted a clear mat so it doesn’t detract from the hard wood flooring. I also wanted one with a “lip” to go under the desk for my feet as well as a surface area for the chair. I found this 47”x36” one in the SHAREWIN Chair Mats for hard wood floors. Price was great at $26.99 and perfect footprint for looks and performance in a home office. So what’s the problem? Well, I kept seeing mixed reviews...some satisfied but some saying it slips and moves around too much. Oh no..who wants a chair mat that slips and moves around. Argh!Well, I decided to take a chance. I mean, at that price, it’s not a huge deal if it doesn’t work out. So, I place the order, I get the mat and now it’s time to put it to the test.First I unroll the mat and lay it down to straighten out and “uncurl”. They are shipped rolled up and wrapped, so they have to settle and lay down (time varies but usually by morning at room temperature they are flat). I put books on the corners of mine to help it flatten out. As I was doing that I did notice it seemed to slide around a bit. But, I gave it overnight to settle. The next day I pick up the books and it’s nice and flat. Now it’s on to the “slipping” test. I place it in front of my desk and *important* put the SLICK clear side down and the slightly textured/frosted side up. I put my chair on the mat. I rolled my chair around, pushed on the mat with my feet...and nothing, it stayed in place and worked perfectly fine...all day. Success! My search was over and I paid less than I had planned. Another great product found on Amazon.I’ve been using it for a few weeks now and still no problems. If you pick up the sides and pull up it will lose contact with the floor and slide wherever you move it. Then simply place it back down flat on the floor and it stays in place. Don’t worry about people saying it slides all over. If it’s sliding on them then maybe it’s a polish or coating or something on their floor (or they have the wrong side down). This mat itself has no problems, it grips the floor and works well.So hopefully that helps out anyone on the fence like I was about it. Great price, great product, no worries.

Excellent chair mat for hardwood floors!
This did a great job protecting my hardwood floor! It does shift a little bit though so it's a good idea to have a weight if possible on either side (for example, by keeping the mat under the desk legs) to keep it in one place. Otherwise excellent!

Comfortable but Not great
Bought the tan. It's quite comfortable. The tan is quite light and has more of a yellow tone than I expected. Grey arm rests don't really go. Arm rests are also difficult to move in and out. Otherwise, seems sturdy.

Nice thickness
I bought this to use in a room I am redoing where my pets use the litter box and puppy pads. So I put it underneath those items on top of the new tile and it makes accident cleanup much easier. I was surprised how flat it laid when I first rolled it out and its thickness will make it quite durable. Large size is perfect for floor protection.

not overly impressed
I have had this under my desk for close to a year .... it is frustratingly elastic, my wheeled chair bunches it up because it has no cling to the hardwood floor and if left bunched up it does not go truly flat again easily ... which makes it more libel to bunch up even faster! ... I don't hate it but I did not expect to constantly re-adjust it!

Works fine on carpet if an underlayment is used
Product works fine on carpet IF you use an underlayment. My home office is carpeted and have had a PVC chair mat over a 3/8" x 48" x 48" piece of plywood for probably 6 to 7 years. The underlayment, while certainly helping, was not thick enough. The plywood finally cracked and so of course the chair mat did as well. This time I used TWO sections of 3/16" x 48" x 48" underlayment (plywood), with this new office chair mat over each. This is enough thickness to create a solid surface under the office chair, while not at all so thick to feel like I would stub my foot when walking to the office chair. As these pictures show, I cut four pieces of 1/4" plywood (4" x 4" each) to place under the front legs of my desk to "transition" from the underlayment to the chair legs. Otherwise the PVC mat will show a buckle under the chair legs. Obviously the finish look of any underlayment is a matter of personal preference. The office chair rolls fine, and the chair mat does not slip.

Awful
I'm using it on a hardwood floor and it's next to worthless. It slides around and bunches up under the wheels of my rolling chair. And if the wheels of the chair roll off the edge of the mat, it buckles up when I try to roll back. I have to stand up and lift the chair back onto the mat.I finally gave up and taped it down around the edges for now. It looks awful, but I trimmed it to fit under my desk, so no return.

Should be Good
Feels very sturdy and I feel as though it'll last quite a while, or at least long enough to get my moneys worth. It's almost totally transparent on the floor, just a slight frosting to tell that its there. I did have to roll it backwards and weigh the corners down to flatten it, but that was to be expected. It did not fit in my space exactly (not at the fault of the product), but it does cut easy and smoothly with kitchen scissors if you needed to adjust it to fit your space, too. I lightly ran a lighter flame on the edge to make sure there we no jagged spots on my custom cut out. I do wish it came with more adhesive dots, since there are more than 4 corners on this style of mat, but I'll just have to find some more later.

Good quality mat, perfect for office users
I received the product after some wait time. But, I really appreciate the clear finish to the product. It does not have too much frosting on the surface which makes it appear to have a near transparent finish.I use it at my work desk with an office chair, perfect for my home office setup. Easy to clean and maintain. However its good if you don't move too much on the office chair, as the size is bit small. As I stand up and roll my chair back one of the back wheel slides of the mat onto the floor. Not a huge deal, since the thickness of the mat is just about right and hence, its easy to get it back onto the mat without much effort.
