Shouldn't there be six stars for a book like this?
You're an advanced guitarist, not shy of hard work, aching to take your playing in a new direction, maybe disappointed by the number of 'hold-my-hand-and-teach-me-the-notes-of-my-favourite-solo' guides out there. This is the book for you. Developed chiefly from Guitar Player magazine articles over many years, this is a distillation of stretching techniques and musicianship. It never teaches you how to play like someone else. Rather, it offers you the place to start fusing what others have discovered with your own style to create something which has not previously been heard.I bought this book two years ago. I imagine that if I keep working at it I will have mastered all the stuff in about ten years from now. It's that good, that detailed, and that packed with challenging stuff.Nothing out there like it. But if you're a beginner or an intermediate player, it's probably worth holding off on this one for a while.
