These actually work nicely at cutting threads. I wear the ring on my right hand ring finger. It doesn’t give a clean cut of thread, it frays the edge of the thread. I find it comes in handy & is comfortable to wear. I wasn’t able to adjust the plastic circumference as the plastic is very stiff.

I use these in the kitchen to tie and wrap meat after curing and before hanging. That means your hands are contaminated, and scissors are a pain to use. i keep one of these on a pinky, and it works great!I hand wash and dry when I wash my hands. I have several of the aluminum version, this is just as good, and are cheap enough to throw away when dull.I am happy.
