Should have bought these from the start.
I had been looking at the NC60 headphones for a while, having owned a pair of AKG headphones years ago, but wanted some with NC while working from home, however, I initially didn't want to spend as much, so I made the mistake of buying a cheaper brand (OneOdio) on Amazon which had plenty of great reviews, but were actually pretty poor, especially with NC on.The AKG NC60's immediately impressed from the moment I opened the Amazon box, even the quality and design of the packaging was significantly better than the previously mentioned headphones. The NC60's feel of better quality too, and for me, are very comfortable to wear, I don't think I would use them in the gym though as I feel they might fall off with enough movement. They were easy to connect to my phone and laptop, with a stable connection, and the sound quality was great across a wide range of music types, I wouldn't say they are suited for bass heads, but they have a nice rounded sound quality without the bass being over powering, even on dance / hip hop tracks. The NC is on constantly when using wirelessly, and combined with music playing isolate most constant sounds (test with the washing machine on), and even drowns out a lot of my constant keyboard noise, there is only so much NC can do though and you can occasionally still hear the faint sound of background talking, but overall I would say they do a great job without spending twice as much, the main thing for me was with NC on there is next to no hiss on quieter tracks / in between tracks / podcasts, which was a major issue for me on the cheaper OneOdio headphones. I also like how these headphones are slightly smaller than over ear headphones, which should make them perfect to travel with.Overall I just wish I bought these from the start, rather than wasting a week receiving, and sending back, the cheaper headphones. Sometimes you get what you pay for, very impressed.

headphones - no more no less
I bought these headphones because I wanted to listen to music and podcasts. I did not want another app on my phone to control them, I did not want to have them recognise my voice, I did not want them to repsond to my slightest touch. If you want a pair of good quality headphones with a high level of external noise suppression and excellent audio reproduction, then the AKG N60NC will provide everything you need. They are light and comfortable to wear for hours at a time, the sound quality is excellent (although I am no audiophile). I bought these after trialling the Bose QC45's and the sound quality of the AKG's is as good as Bose, the AKG profile is probably more natural sounding. The active noise cancelling is not as good as Bose, but for me that's no bad thing - I returned the Bose QC45's as the noise cancelling was so strong that is gave me headaches and nausea. If you are susceptible to the side effects of ANC then you will be fine with the AKG headphones. The overall effect on ANC is that the Bose totally block the external world so that you feel you are in an anechoic chamber, the AKG push the noise far to the back of your preception - it's still there but just as a faint background. The AKG N60NC feel like they have been designed as headphones, first and foremost, and then had bluetooth capbility and ANC added. For me this is a good thing - they sound great whether wired without power or via bluetooth and the controls are physical buttons which cover the necessary functions only (vol up/down, pause/skip track). The headphones have a nice natural soundscape so there is little need to use an equaliser, but if I did I can use one on my phone, I don't need the over-engineering of an on-board equaliser. Similarly, voice activated switch off of playback, inertial recognition of their removal, capacitive sensing etc. are redundant 99% of the time when you just want to listen and enjoy the audio experience.I bought these at ~ £120, near to £100 cheaper than the leading Bose and Sony alternatives. This is fantastic quality/£.
