I bought this just to practice hair styles I want to try on myself. This is only a leisure activity for me and I didn't want to spend to much, so the price point is the first thing that attract me. I also like the fact that it comes with an adjustable stand that I can attach to my table for stability. When it arrived the hair was matted and it did have a chemical/ plastic odor (as some people mentioned in their reviews). I washed to head with shampoo and conditioned it immediately; that resolved the smell. Once washed (and air dried) the hair is soft and wavy. There was some shedding during the wash and detangling process but to be fair I have never used on of these mannequin heads before so I'm not sure if the shedding was normal or a lot. I would recommend.

It sheds. But ok for the money I guess. I would like a better one.

Ordered this as a gift for my 10 year old for Christmas, got it delivered today. Fast shipping!! Hair smelled fishy but that's no surprise due to chemical wash from where it came from. Head and face in good condition, no cracks, scratches or marks.I wasn't sure at first how to assemble to head insert which attaches to the table clamp. I am not a cosmetologist so i was unfamiliar with the assembly. Maybe include some instructions if you don't YouTube immediately available. Also include instructions for proper care for the hair for first wash, for those who are not familiar with this item. I will come back with an update once my daughter has opened as a gift and gave it her first text run :)

I was very happy with this mannequin head. She came right on time. I am a cosmetology student, got her for my classes. I haven't used her yet so I don't know how she does with heat. She is very pretty, not one of those weird looking heads that have weird eyes. She doesn't smell funny like some of the other heads I've used or seen. She was packaged nicely, no knots out of box. The stand that come with it isn't very nice but that's just like a bonus, it will make a good back up or to use at home for practice. I will do another review after I use her. I know how hard it is to find a decent mannequin head online and the reviews are needed. I am happy so far epically for the price.

This mannequin is great quality, minimal shedding, good amount of hair and realistic feeling. I have practiced braiding on it and after a careful wash and conditioning the hair is really soft. Im sure it will also work well for other things like heat styling and roller sets.Edit: with every wash the hair stretched and lost most of the curls. By now it only has slight waves left. Except of that it still is a good mannequin.

The mannequin itself is fine. I purchased it because I wanted to practice on coilier hair and the mannequin hair is definitely not that. It arrives and looks like it will be but the moment you wash the hair, you see the true texture which is finer and wavy. Still good to practice it but certainly not what I wanted or expected based on the description, photo, and some of the reviews.
