Ambleside online
Do not let the image of this book prevent you from purchasing it. It is a new book with a image of a worn book jacket as the cover. It is a high quality paperback reprint of a classic book. Very happy I found it.

Great publisher!
Great replica! I’m so glad this was published. The publisher remained true to the original format. It’s like having the original. Thank you for the hard work! So glad I was able to get this for a reasonable price and not price coughed for an older used copy.

Interesting Dated View Of The Western World And It’s Landmarks
I bought this book after reading about it in “The Days Of Anna Madrigal”. I would imagine I’d think better of it if I’d grown up with it as a child, but that isn’t the case. I didn’t find the writing all that special (a bit juvenile, or aimed at the young it seemed to me) and of course the material is all out of date. But I knew that. Still, it’s out there for someone else to find and perhaps their kids will get into it.

Engaging, narrative format that brings US geography to life
My 11 year old daughter was so excited after reading the first chapter. She said "this is unlike any geography book I've ever read." I am supplementing her 6th grade US geography lessons with this book once a week. It starts on the west coast, unlike most which go East to West, but we found that refreshing being from CA. The book has black and white photographs.

binding broke
My son loved this book! However, I was very upset when I saw that the binding is broken. It looks like it wasn't glued properly. My son is not rough on his books and we have had it less than a year so this was very disappointing...

A book worth reading
This book is a bit dated but still has a relevant place for education. My son has enjoyed this book. The author is a very good communicator and brings to life some great monuments like the Golden Gate Bridge. There are amazing facts about the achievements of man as they made their dreams come true with lots of work and vision. I recommend this book

Fun because I read it when I was 12
This is a young adults book. Maybe 12 year old approx. Fun to read from a historical perspective and the fact I read it when I was young. But all in all a so-so purchase.
