Dry as a bone in a driving rain
Cover is easy to install and operate. Went through a significant summer rain storm for about an hour...completely dry inside.. I took the trouble to seal between the bed and bed caps, but not sure if that mattered. On the down side, the drain hoses won't stay on unless sealer is used. A better quality hose should be supplied.Still very pleased with the purchase.O4 Tundra LTD crew cab

Solid Product; Installation Requires Some Ingenuity
I installed my BakFlip cover over a month ago and I am very satisfied with it. I didn't have any kind of bed cover before, so I love being able to lock stuff in the bed overnight, when I'm at lunch, etc.The construction seems very durable and while it isn't 100% watertight, it's pretty close and it has kept my bed dry on several rainy days. The only water I see is in the groves of the bed liner, so my gear doesn't actually get wet. Also, I have hauled larger items with the cover flipped all the way up, and the lockable arms do their job without issue. My only complaint with this product would be related to the installation. My truck's factory drop-in bed liner interfered with the installation of the Bakflip's clamp-on rails. I had to use a Dremel kit to cut out sections of the bed liner to accommodate the rails.I had the same issue with the factory tailgate and bed rail caps. I removed the tailgate cap altogether and then used weather-stripping to seal the gap, which worked out nicely. But for the bed rail caps I ended up breaking out the Dremel again to narrow the caps and make them fit alongside the Bakflip. Again, this worked out, but it was a bit of a gamble.I think if you have a spray-on bed liner, or no liner at all, then installation would be less of a hassle. I just wish Bakflip gave some word of caution in the description or offered some solution.

Measure twice....Read answered questions
This was a great addition to my 20 year old 4x4 Tundra. I needed to secure my truck bed for equipment on a road trip to New Mexico. My first choice was a camper shell, but delivery time on those was running 15 weeks due to supply chain problems (thanks COVID-19), so I opted for the BAKFlip. After reading through the answered questions on Amazon, I found that our local dealer had steered me down the wrong path by trying to sell me a 6-foot x 6-inch cover for my extra cab Tundra. Answered questions gave me the correct part number for my bed cover. The bed measured 6-feet 2inches in length, and although the local dealer was down on stock, Amazon had 7 units available. The cover arrived on time, and I had it on the truck in under an hour. I didn't need to install rail shims, and the cover went right on the bed rails without any issues. I have a Toyota drop-in bed liner, and I installed the rear clamps just in front of the liner covering the tail light pockets instead of sawing up the liner to move the clamps all the way back. ensure you torque the clamp bolts properly according to the instructions to secure the clamps in place on the rail. Fully open, I used the truck to haul a couple chairs across town to the upholstery shop for my wife, then covered all my gear securely for the New Mexico trip. Gear height is an important consideration if you want a covered load, so if you have a large Yeti cooler, better measure the bed height before planning to secure it with a BAKFlip. Rain, or trips to the car wash haven't caused a leak yet thanks to the rail drain tubes I slipped through the tie down access cut outs in the liner. Make sure you measure the bed on your truck before buying!
