is this sutable for tropical finches and canaries?

It was for my dad who gives it to his chicks mixed with water to make it soft but yes he gives it his finches and canaries

Will this be o.k for cage bred bullfinchies and goldfinchies and does it have insects in it

Hi Paul. We have canaries, they really thrive on the egg food. We have had ten young this year so far. It contains no insects and it’s quite fine and moist. Sorry this doesn’t help much, but we have never had finches. Regards Rosemary.

Do budgies/birds need grit to digest this?

As I understand, grit should always be available to caged birds. Egg food is probably more digestible than say seeds and vegetable matter. However egg food is only meant as a supplement to a basic diet hence the need for grit.

How long will this keep for before expiring?

Quite a time, I usually seal the opened pack and place in fridge.
