FYI, the hat comes with a stretch band. Thus you don't have to worry about a precise fit. My head measured towards the top end of medium per the company ordering chart. At first try the hat was tighter then I would prefer, but it has loosened up a bit after wearing and is acceptable. I love the design I chose and the quality of the hat is excellent.

I purchased this for my son, for his birthday. The color of the blue is gorgeous, the detailing is beautiful, the stitching is even, nice and very professional. I hope I picked the right size, I will try to update this after he opens it. But the wool is quality, not flimsy at all. I highly recommend. ***Note, since posting this, I gave to my son and it was sized just as the description stated. It fit him very well and is just beautifully made and wonderful material!****it has been 3 months of constant wear by my son, it fits well, wears well and he would definitely recommend

After reading reviews I decided to give this hat I try. Higher priced than others but first and foremost it needed to be made in Ireland. It is and the quality can’t be denied. First rate including a plush lining. This hat was perfect in every way except it just didn’t fit. A bit too tight and I had ordered the XXL. Just got a haircut so it was my best shot. I kept trying it on but it was still too tight. It is the “only” reason that I reluctantly returned it. I highly suggest ordering one size larger than usual. Good luck.

Picked up this cap and really like it, I thought why not pay a little extra for the lining. Fit perfect, I have a noggin at 7 1/2" and it fit nice and snug, bought Large size Would rather have it fit firm than loose. Made with good quality material and looks great, Navy.

Biddy Murphy's size chart showed my 58cm head measurement to be a "Medium". I reluctantly ordered a "Medium" only to find it it wasn't even close - WAY to small. Measuring the band it came out to 56cm (and that is being generous.) All of my other flat-caps are either a "Large" or "Extra Large". Once again showing ordering without the capacity to try the product for correct sizing is a proverbial "crap-shoot". Very disappointing.

I ordered three hats for Christmas, one for my father and one for my husband and one extra. My son and I are sharing the extra one for the moment--until we decide who's it really is. I went caroling in it last week and found it warm and comfortable. Women don't usually wear this kind of a hat, but it suited me. The colors are clean and the material is finely made. I recommend without reservation.

It fits good, tight. I would give it 5 stars, but since I have owned another Irish hat, for this one the tweed is not the same. It keeps my head warm in the cold months.

Seems like good quality, but took far too long to arrive (a full week longer than the date quoted). In the meantime I'd found one at a third of the price in Debenhams,, which looks just as good.
